Singer Britney Spears does not seem to be too happy with her fans right now.

More specifically, the "Hold Me Closer" singer is understandably frustrated with the few fans who thought it might be a good idea to call the cops after the 41-year-old pop star decided to deactivate her Instagram account, which is something she has done before.

It seems the “Slumber Party” singer does not like to have cops show up at her home to do a welfare check and no one can blame her! Britney’s stifling conservatorship started in February 2008 and was finally struck down by a judge in November 2021. Britney has made it pretty clear that she doesn’t want her actions scrutinized and it seems this latest move might just put more distance between her and her fans.

According to TMZ, law enforcement officials showed up at Britney’s door “close to midnight,” which would unnerve anyone. Source told the outlet that Britney was “annoyed” by the welfare check. It’s not clear whether law enforcement officials spoke to Britney directly or if someone at the home assured them she was fine, but either way, sources say it was “an inconvenience.”

Fortunately, insiders also say that Britney “understands” how much her fans care about her and her health so “she wasn’t totally surprised” that someone called the police, but it was still unexpected and unwarranted nonetheless.

It’s worth noting that TMZ reported that not one, but several fans, called to express concern for Britney’s safety after she deactivated her Instagram account on Tuesday night. This is what led local sheriffs to visit Britney’s Thousand Oaks home later that night around 11 PM local time to perform a welfare check.

It's worth noting that this is far from the first time that Britney has deactivated her Instagram account. Back in December, the “Oops!...I Did It Again” singer claimed that she had “accidentally” deleted her Instagram account, writing, “I know my Instagram has been down a few times but honestly I did the last two times myself !!! Oops … I accidentally pressed the wrong button … d*mn that stupid button !!!”

However, fans have been concerned for Britney lately given her erratic Instagram posts. Last Thursday, Britney shared an Instagram post saying that she wanted to change her name to “River Red” after saying she wanted to change her name to “Brooklyn” only a few weeks ago.

In the caption, Britney wrote: “A bright one … easy does it !!! Thank you, childhood friend, I found my ball … don’t underestimate the power of purity !!! I see right through it all … it has liquid and is wet … it’s playful and has mass !!! I changed my name to River Red !!!"

Fans still aren't sure what River Red is supposed to mean but there was no room for debate in the comments. Britney has turned off comments for her Instagram posts since the start of the new year and it doesn't look like she has any plans to turn them back on any time soon.

Britney very briefly came back on Instagram on Wednesday night, posted something, and then quickly deleted her account again. According to the Daily Mail, the “Gimme More” singer “shared a post slamming online trolls.”

Britney reportedly wrote, "Rational people... I had one of these and it disappeared!!! I could sit back and be like MOST and not give anyone anything to think about on Instagram... But interest is what serves most and being good!!! Being good can and will wrap things up in a seashell!!! Living the lavida loco life!!!"

She continued: "It gets better because that's what I aim for!!! Keep coughing playas and just remember to watch your back!!! Or you might just get caught!!! Yep sucks to be me. Keep talking sh*t or maybe it will just rain from the sky!!! Giving someone I love my everything only gives me the dagger in the heart!!!"

"So at this point... I generously serve you my sh*t... eat my sh*t," Britney added. It's worth noting that although her Instagram account is still down, it looks like her Twitter account is still up and running.
