Jonah Hill Has Legally Changed His Name To... Jonah Hill

A few months back, Jonah Hill filed a petition to drop Feldstein from his name and legally be known as Jonah Hill. The petition has been granted!

The actor’s current legal name is now just Jonah Hill. Before on paper, the You People actor was legally known as Jonah Hill Feldstein and had to sign documents that way but professionally, we all know the comedic actor as Jonah Hill.

In the legal documents obtained by The Blast, Hill’s petition was granted and it reads, “The petition is granted.  Once the proposed decree is signed, it cannot be amended without a new petition to change name.”

Jonah did not have to appear before the courts to have the change approved. Hill’s name change is a long time coming seeing as he has been in this business for well over ten years at this point.

The actor has been going by Hill since he started his career, by default he is Jonah Hill, who is this Feldstein character? He shared in the original docs that the name change is because “‘Jonah Hill’ is Petitioner’s professional name. Petitioner wants to make his professional name his legal name.”

Hill, like many other actors, has a moniker or stage name and while it’s fun to have a cool, memorable name, it can low-key be a nightmare for paperwork and collecting your coins. Don’t forget that your name has to match the cheque that you cash at the bank.

In some cases, extra paperwork can be required, and let’s be real, it’s a hassle that not even an actor’s assistant wants to deal with.

Even though Jonah has decided to ditch the traditional last name, he comes from a family of actors, one of whom is utilizing the last name. Jonah’s little sister Beanie Feldstein of Booksmart fame is putting the last name to good use.

The actress has been in productions on the stage like “Funny Girl” before having to drop out and movies like Lady Bird and How to Build A Girl. Her career has also expanded to TV shows like American Crime Story where she played Monica Lewinsky and FX’s What We Do in the Shadows.

Jonah and Beanie’s late brother Jordan Feldstein was also in the business prior to passing. He was the band Maroon 5’s manager. He suffered a “pulmonary thromboembolism” at age 40.

A name change is a popular thing for actors, they often have stage names and go by them in public Jonah is only the latest in a long list of celebs who have changed their names.

The Breaking Bad actor’s legal name is Aaron Paul Sturtevant but professionally we all know him as “Aaron Paul”. In his petition, the actor also filed to have his wife and his son’s names legally changed as well.

Kylie Jenner named her son Wolfe Webster and realized he didn’t seem like a “Wolfe”, so she changed to what we just recently found out is Aire apparently it means “dick” in Arabic.

Her former brother-in-law Kanye West filed a petition to have his name changed from Kanye Omari West to simply “Ye”.

It’s a Hollywood thing, guys.
