Olivia Munn Shows Son Eating 'Longevity Noodles' In Spirit Of The Lunar New Year

Going with tradition, Munn and Malcolm celebrated the Lunar New Year with longevity noodles, signifying "long life," given the holiday. The 42-year-old mother shared a video of the meal on her Instagram Story, garnished with several tasty vegetables and served in a white deep ceramic bowl.

"Longevity Noodles for Lunar New Year," she captioned the post adding two emojis signifying the longstanding tradition. She also added a sticker to the clip, indicating "2023."

Another Insta Story video showed her son trying to eat the noodles but also playing with them using his little fingers and with so much concentration.  Amid the amusing moment, Malcolm made a comical sound causing his mom, who was behind the camera, to laugh.

Munn then asked him to "take a bite," which he did simultaneously, and she commended him, saying, "good job," after which he returned to messing around with the stocky noodles.

"For a long life my little son," Munn captioned the upload. The "Iron Man 2" actress seems to have the right reason for feeding her baby boy the traditional dish as she has been trying to familiarize him with her Asian culture.

However, some fans haven't been approving of her approach, especially when she took him to an Asian market for the first time. The Blast reported that she gained her first "bad parenting" criticism after uploading an Instagram reel of herself with her family spending a day shopping for some household items.

In the video set to Meghan Trainor's single, "Made You Look," Munn, her baby daddy John Mulaney, and their son appeared to be enjoying themselves while at the cultural market. Looking typically fashionable, the movie star rocked a red knitted and cropped turtleneck sweater with long sleeves, which she paired with blue flare jeans and black ankle boots.

On the other hand, Malcolm was dressed in a gray starfish sweater and light-colored pants, while Mulaney wore a brown puffer jacket and blue jeans. Although the family looked super adorable together, what drew critics' attention was the instant Munn took her child to the seafood department and showed him varieties of animals.

The gesture offended many, including vegetarians and those who share similar opinions as they took to the comments section to slam the "Date Night" star. One critic exclaimed, "Asian market, where you can find lot of most dead animals ando [sic] look them suffer. What a trash."

A second troll regarded the post as "traumatizing" and expressed distaste for Munn's teaching her son how to treat wildlife.

Another penned a sarcastic remark, implying that the seafood department with "live seafood as the aquarium" was always one of their "favorite places at the Asian market."

A more hostile commenter wrote, "When you drag your baby & SO out in the middle of a pandemic just to take thirst trap pics because you like the way your ass looks in a pair of jeans."

Back in December, the 42-year-old revealed that she was having a tough time with Malcolm's teething on her Instagram Story, confessing that she and her partner had sleepless nights.

In the posted clip, Mulaney read a children's playbook to their baby whom he carried on his lap in the middle of the night. He looked worn out but was focused on ensuring the tot felt better.

Meanwhile, Munn, who was the cameraman, captioned the short update with the time, "12:14 AM," after writing, "We were awakened by a screaming Malcolm…."
