In a recent carousel of photos and videos posted on Instagram, Mellencamp shows the newest update after her four-to-six-week check-up. Her caption explains what's going on.

"First off, I am forever appreciative of the outpouring of love and support. Now an update: I went in for my 4-6 week checkup and there were three new spots my doctors felt needed to be biopsied. I’m getting a lot of questions about the spots being white. I have had both white and brown melanomas; this is why I continue to share to get checked no matter what," she began explaining.

She continued by saying, "Also, recently I felt a bump on my neck. My anxiety, of course, took over. I touched it at least 303 times. However, day of appointment, I assumed it was nothing. And then the ultrasound came back irregular. I had the option of a needle biopsy or getting it cut out completely; the doctor recommended the biopsy to start, however there’s a small chance it’ll come back inconclusive and we will then have to remove it."

The "Two T's in a Pod" podcast co-host continues to explain that she is "controlled person" and is handling the news as best as she can since it's out of her control. "Things I can control: staying on top of my appointments, self-checks, and asking my doctors questions," she continued. "I’m trying my best to stay positive and will fill you in when I get the results. If this saves even one person from going through what I’m going through, it’s worth it. ?"

In one of the videos in the carousel, the reality star talks about the lymph node coming back suspicious in the ultrasound. "So now they are about to do a needle biopsy," she said. "I'm here to tell you I'm not looking forward to it, but really grateful I came in when I did."

After the biopsy was done, she filmed another update video. "Wasn't really expecting that one. Had the needle biopsy of the lymph node and I should know three to five days on that," she said. "And then the three spots on my back, the three white spots, I should know in like a week-and-a-half or so."

But, it looked like absolutely nothing significant. It was not brown or irregular in shape. I honestly thought it was a bug bite that was slow to heal. Keep spreading the word because you are helping others! Sending you all the good vibes and prayers!," another follower shared.
