Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Teddi Mellencamp revealed on IG that she has been diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma. She shows off the pink scars to prove it.

“Melanoma awareness update. Despite my anxiety, I listened to the doctors and went in for my 3-month skin check last week since my previous melanoma,” started out the emotional post. “Had another abnormal spot near my last one so they did a biopsy. I got the call this morning: Stage 2 melanoma,” she bravely revealed to her one million followers.

The Bravo alum continued on to reveal more of her story and what her journey from here will look like.

“Now, next Wednesday I go to an oncologist to have it cut out and come up with a game plan on next steps. Of course, this is all pending some additional testing and biopsies of other spots nearby that were taken today,”

The podcast host wants everyone to take care of their health. “Moral of this story: if a doctor says, “come in every 3 months” please go in every 3 months. I so badly wanted to blow this off.,” she admitted.

Thankfully, she didn’t “What could happen in 3 months?” I thought. Apparently a lot.” The accountability coach insisted it was her duty to bring attention to the diagnosis because of her upbringing in the 90s.

“I continue to share this journey because I was a 90s teen, putting baby oil and iodine on my skin to tan it. Never wearing sunscreen or getting my moles checked until I was 40 years old. This has been such a wakeup call for me, and I hope to all of you, to love and protect the skin you’re in.”

The 41-year-old hopped on IG Story and revealed more to her followers. “So I just finished my workout and I got the call from the doctor that the other spot came back melanoma and they asked me to come right in.”

Teddi is choking back tears as she reveals her story in the doctor's office. She referred to the whole situation as “facing my fear,” she had been understandably scared to get tests done and even take that first step into the doctor's office.

She promised to keep fans posted on her process “go get your skin checks: she says adamantly. Her follow-up IG stories are two posts giving followers a closer look at before and after photos of her melanomas, which she had biopsied the previous week.

Like Teddi, Khloe Kardashian also took to her Instagram Story to share with curious followers who spotted her wearing a skin-tone bandaid on the side of her face. She wrote.

“after noticing a small bump on my face and assuming it was something as minor as a zit, I decided to get it biopsied 7 months after realizing it was not budging.”

She proudly posted a few photos of the bump and even a cool slo-mo video of her rocking the band-aid.

Like Mellencamp, KoKo was shaken but knew she was a step in the right direction by getting the help she needed. She took the time to post a few dermatologists who helped her along the way and who would be happy to help anyone else in need.
