After Tough Molt In December, Howie The Crab Is Back To Her Normal Life!

Howie the crab is back in action!

After a longer than normal and difficult molt in December, the sweet rainbow crab is now back to her old self eating all her favorite foods, pinching kitties, going on walks, and of course, high fiving her mom.

After Howie's molt in late December, it took a while for her to regain her full appetite and get moving into her normal life once again. It also took a bit for her to want to wear a hat again after the traumatic molting experience, but now she's back in full action and ready to live life to the fullest.

A video shared on TikTok shortly after her molt, viewers got the chance to see her do "happy mouth," something she didn't do for quite a while. The video captioned, "Happy Mouth for cheese! It's been a long long time! Howie is dining underwater tonight because she's mad at me about the long LIVE Christmas Q&A we did last night ?," shows the little crab enjoying one of her favorites - cheese!

Many of Howie's fans were elated to see her do "happy mouth" after a long hiatus. "? So glad she's back her normal 'crabby' self ?," one fan wrote. "Oh she finally has cheese!! I'm so happy I could cry ???," wrote another.

In another video shared on TikTok, fans of the rainbow crab got the opportunity to see her playing with her "frenemy" Siren the cat. "Howie finally had her chance to pinch Siren ?," the caption began.

A video posted shortly after showed Howie doing something unique that her mom taught her to do - high five! One follower asked, "Does she understand high five or just good timing? ?," and Howie's mom responded, "She understands high fives. Check out our high five compilation video. It's pinned to the top of my page."

Believe it or not, this crab eats a variety of food including steak. In the video, "Surf eating turf night," Howie is excited to get a piece of steak all to herself. Captioned, "Howie loves ribeye steak. I call it surf eating turf night ?," says it all!

One fan wanted to know if she also eats surf in addition to the turf. "Amazing how excited she was!?? Has she ever eaten seafood?" to which her mom replied, "Yes she eats shrimp and fish regularly." One fan wondered what's off limits asking, "She's so sweet, is there anything she can't have to eat???" Howie's mom replied, "I avoid chocolate, fruit pits, acidic foods, spicy peppers, and onions."

Now that Howie's back in action and that tough molt is behind her, there's probably a lot more fun headed TikTok's way. A recent fun video shared captioned, "Watch me make a crab dinner," had some fans wondering what's going on.

"Low-key thought you were cooking Howie I was shook," one fan wrote. Another added, "I panicked thinking you were going to cook crab in front of her ?." One other fan also left her thoughts writing, "I thought poor Howie was gonna be traumatised by watching you cook crab for dinner."
