Cardi B is revealing the moment she and Offset found out about Takeoff’s murder and how it emotionally and physically affected Offset.

News Of The Murder Rocked Cardi B & Offset

Cardi B revealed that the night she and her husband Offset found out about Takeoff’s murder was horrific. She told the story to Jason Lee on the "Hollywood Unlocked" podcast. “We was in bed,” shared Cardi indicating the “terrible” phone call came in late at night.

“We just fell asleep and out of nowhere, Offset phone kept ringing, my phone kept ringing,” she says. “Offset picked up the phone and he’s just like, ‘No!’ And he screaming and screaming. And I’m like, ‘What’s going on?’” Cardi recalls, “He’s like, ‘Takeoff is dead.'”

Cardi was forced to “smack” her husband because he was so hysterical. “Don’t say that!” she remembers yelling at him.

Offset Had A Visceral Reaction

Cardi B went on to share that Offset was physically ill when he found out. “He’s just like screaming, throwing things, throwing up, running all over. I was just so scared. I was just crying so much. It was terrible.”

Once they found out about the news she recalls the energy in her home changing almost immediately. “It was just such a sensitive time in my home. I feel like everything was so triggering. It was a lot,” she recalls of the sad moment.

Cardi and Offset both have gone on to share moments on social media with Takeoff that were special to them and Cardi revealed that she has had to be extra strong for her husband whose grief was overwhelming him.

Takeoff Was Murdered In November

Takeoff whose real name is Kirsnick Khari Ball was shot and killed on November 1 during a night out at a pool hall with his group member Quavo. An altercation broke out between Quavo and some others after a game of dice.

A gun was drawn, and shots were fired. Takeoff was hit in his body and the head, unfortunately, he was only 28 years old. Shortly after he passed, Offset wrote a tribute on Instagram alongside photos of his cousin.

“My heart is shattered, and I have so many things to say, but I can’t find the words. I’ve been going to sleep and waking up hoping that all of this is a dream, but it’s reality, and reality feels like a nightmare.”

Cardi B Opened Up About Takeoff

The “Up” rapper shared how she was doing emotionally amid the murder and the drama surrounding it. She responded that e felt “hopeless” for herself and Offset. “We don’t want no sympathy. We ain’t no charity case, but no lie, I have been feeling so hopeless trying to make my husband happy, Trying to make him crack a smile,” she said honestly to Neighborhood Talk.

Takeoff’s murderer has been arrested and charged, his name is Patrick Xavier Clark, 33. He posted a $1 million bond and was released from prison on January 4. Clark has maintained his innocence.

Cardi, nor Offset have commented on the arrest and are focused on getting past the murder.
