Governors Ball Debuts New Location With Headline Acts Lizzo & Kendrick Lamar

Governors Ball has a new location this year along with an amazing lineup including headlining acts Lizzo, Kendrick Lamar, and Odesza.

The music festival will be in Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, New York this year. The three-day event will run from June 9 to 11. Lizzo will headline day one with Lil Uzi Vert, Diplo, and Haim subheadings.

The night will also feature Joey bada$$, Davido, 070 Shake, Kim Petras, and more. Day two will be headlined by Odesza and subheaded by Lil Baby, Aespa, and Rina Sawayama. Koffee, Lovejoy, and Finneas are some of the other acts that will round out that day.

Finally, day three is headlined by Kendrick Lamar and features Lil Nas X, Giveon, and Sofi Tukker as the sub headliners. The rest of the night will feature performances by Pusha T, Tems, Black Midi, and Leon among many others.

The music festival has bounced around every few years shaking up the locations but always around New York City. For the last two years, the ball was held at Citi Field. Before that, the festival had a stable home at Randall’s Island Park.

Tickets for this event are on sale right now exclusively for a Citi presale. Then a fan access pre-sale will take place beginning Thursday, January 19 and the rest of us can have at the scraps. The event is boasted as “New York’s Biggest Party” and they always bring a great lineup.

The festival has posted some of its pricing options online and a payment plan that potential attendees can use if they don’t have the chunk of money right away. General admission for the t 3 days is $279 plus other fees. You could upgrade your general admission experience to GA+ for $479.

The websites describe the GA+ experience as; “upgrade your fest experience with unlimited access to the ga+ lounge with air-conditioned restrooms, shaded lounge hangs, bars, and more.”

If you have $739 plus taxes, you can have the VIP experience.

“See your favorite artists up close with premium viewing at each stage, along with access to vip lounges by each stage with added perks and dedicated premium entry into the fest (21+),” describes the Governors Ball website.

The area is sponsored by IHG Hotels & Resorts so it’s a little fancy, covered, and offers a few amenities.

The festival is all about the music for many people, but some people are there for the experience that they can gain followers from and the platinum area and cabanas. The platinum area cost a shocking $2,499 for three days.

It’s described as “the ultimate experience with exclusive front-of-stage viewing and on-stage viewing at all 3 stages. All the vip perks with added amenities like complimentary all-day dining & full-service bar included, and more (21+).”

If you really want to lay back and enjoy the experience, get a cabana. You know something is beyond reach when the price isn’t displayed.
