Via an Instagram video, Gomez hit back at her body shamers who trolled her following her appearance at the 2023 Golden Globes, per Mirror.

One troll had dissed the actress that her "body would be similar to ur moms" if she kept allowing her weight to fluctuate, while another wrote, "Selena, time to get in shape."

She also faced the same heat on Twitter as a user claimed she looked a "bit dumpy."

In response to the negative comments, the singer acknowledged that she had added weight recently, but it was due to her enjoying herself.

"'I'm a little bit big right now because I enjoyed myself during the holidays," Gomez told her fans, seemingly unconcerned about the chatter about her physical appearance,

Prior to filming the video, Gomez dazzled onlookers on the Golden Globes red carpet in a strapless Valentino gown.

The beautifully designed attire had a plunging neckline that showed off the singer's ample cleavage, oversized purple puff sleeves, and a long train of the same color. It also came with a risque thigh-high slit.

She accessorized with silver drop earrings and wore a pair of black strappy shoes. Her face was also glammed up beautifully while she styled her tresses in a chic manner.

Gomez had attended the ceremony in the company of her sister. She ultimately lost out on winning the Best Television Actress for her role in "Only Murders In The Building" to "Abbott Elementary's" star actress, Quinta Brunson.

Gomez's recent encounter with body shamers is one of many the actress has faced over the years. But just like her recent admission that she doesn't care about what they think, she shared the same sentiment in the past.

In April 2022, she took to TikTok to slam trolls who keep giving unbecoming opinions about her weight.

"So I be trying to stay skinny, but I went to Jack in the Box, and I got four tacos, three egg rolls, onion rings and a spicy chicken sandwich," Gomez said at the time, per Elle.

She added, "But honestly, I don't care about my weight because people bitch about it anyway: 'You're too small.' 'You're too big.' 'That doesn't fit.' 'Meh meh meh meh.' Bitch, I am perfect the way I am. Moral of the story? Bye."

Selena Gomez Is Back On Instagram

Gomez has had a very complicated relationship with social media for years and even stopped engaging with Instagram for a while.

The actress, who is one of the most followed celebrities on the app, revealed in 2021 that she ended her relationship with the social media platform because it felt like "too much information."

"I felt like my thoughts and everything I was consuming revolved around a million different other people in the world saying good things and bad things," she said, per CNN. "And I just thought, 'Why would I—I don't get anything from it. Nothing is giving me life.' And I just snapped, and I was over it."

The star is now back on the app, uploading a number of selfies and other photos with friends before her most recent live video, in which she criticized body shamers.
