Fans Have Mixed Reactions About Selena Gomez & Nicola Peltz's Budding Friendship

In a dramatic turn of events, it seems a sisterly bond has been built between Selena Gomez & Nicola Peltz, who have both done well to create a name for themselves in the Hollywood industry.

Although the seemingly new friendship between Gomez and Peltz is commendable and has the majority of their fans awwing and fanning over their sweet public display of friendship, other fans appear to be a bit skeptical.

The fans' reactions come after the two actresses posted themselves on their separate  Instagram accounts, posing together for the camera and wearing matching designer outfits while looking radiant and exceptionally beautiful. 

The two stars marked the New Year together with a trip to Los Cabos alongside Peltz's husband, Brooklyn Beckham, where they had fun and created long-lasting memories.

Taking to Instagram to flaunt their budding friendship, Gomez posted several pictures of the pair wearing very similar "Valentino" mini-dresses. In the first slide, the pair were outdoors as they posed on a beautifully decorated rooftop that featured two hanging egg chairs in the background. 

The celebrities looked divine, dressed in Valentino creations that featured silver sequined mini-dresses with back necklines and side slits, and came complete with personalized labels.

Holding hands and staring right at the camera, the two friends paired their outfits with the same brand's signature wedges, a pair of see-through peep toe sandals. They also did similar hairstyles, as they had their hair styled into sleek ponytails. 

In the following slide, Gomez and Peltz were joined by Beckham, who was given the honor to take his wife and her friend's picture while the pair sweetly posed for the camera.

Captioning the post, she wrote, "Thank @maisonvalentino for me and my angels dresses! Felt like a fairy! Oh and @isabelalysafor making us look good"!

Swiftly commenting under her post, Peltz wrote, "I love you my angel forever"!!!  It seems "The Last AirBender" actress possessed the same feelings as Gomez, as she also posted on her Instagram several snaps of herself and Gomez having a great time together.

Peltz also shared a sweet clip of her and her husband sharing an intimate moment as they kissed passionately while fireworks were being displayed in the air.

Captioning the post, she wrote, "Happy New Years ? ? thank you @maisonvalentino @yigit @pppiccioli for our matching dream dressed ?"

While some die-hard fans may be excited about the prospect of the "Same Old Love" singer finding a new friend, others are worried about the longevity of their friendship.

Some of the reactions from Instagram included one fan writing, "Y'all don't understand how much I'm happy that Nicola is Selena's friend now ❤️." Another observed, "Since you and Selena are friends, she seems happier, thank you for your friendship ? @nicolaannepeltzbeckham

A third wrote, "Thank you for being such a special friend to Selena ??? @nicolaannepeltzbeckham. "Their friendship looks so sweet and fun ❤️," wrote another follower.

Gomez and Peltz Twitter fans proceeded to continue the conversation about new fondness for each other on the bird app. A Twitter user declared, "Nicola is turning Selena into the shallow ig model she once was."

Another user made a funny observation and wrote, "starting to think Selena is in a poly relationship with Brooklyn and Nicola idk."

A third user shared their thought out loud, writing, "I wonder how long this friendship between Nicola and Selena will last cause all I'm saying is Selena and Cara were attached to the hip and suddenly we saw less and less of Cara."

While the "Barney & Friends" actress has made a new connection with Peltz, there are still speculations as to whether she and her kidney donor, Francia Raisa, who have been long-time friends, still share a bond.

Per The Blast, the drama began when the "Ice Cream" singer, during an Interview, stated that she didn't have many Hollywood friends. In her words, "I never fit in with a cool group of girls that were celebrities, my only friend in the industry really is Taylor [Swift], so I remember feeling like I didn't belong."

The singer's revelation didn't sit well with Raisa, who saw it online and retweeted it, adding her caption, "interesting." 

Although she has since deleted the post, it was, however, reshared by fans who have gone ahead to make it a big issue. It also didn't help that the "Grown-ish" actress doesn't follow the Disney alum on Instagram anymore.
