NBA Star Kyrie Irving's Instagram Account Suspended With No Explanation

While NBA star Kyrie Irving may be used to controversy, his recent issue is making his fans scratch their heads in confusion. Irving's Instagram page was recently suspended, and no explanation was given to the Brooklyn Nets star as to why.

A screenshot of the news shared in a Story on Kaieyeart, Irving's secondary art page, was shared by Brooklyn Netcast's Twitter page on Thursday. The screenshot shows the social media platform's decision with words over top explaining what's going on from Irving's perspective, as well as a message to his "tribe."

"They suspended my @kyrieirving account, idk why, nor do I care to know the reason why. Tribe My Tribe: Make sure y'all are paying attention to everything that's going on. Stand Firm no matter what."

Many of Irving's fan were fast to react to this unexplained ban, and many believed that it's a direct attack on the NBA star who has been known to stir up some controversy from time to time.

"Idk why they always gotta hate on someone who speaks their mind. He never even posted anything on there that was controversial," one of Brooklyn Netcast's Twitter followers responded. "People trying so hard to bring him down, its just sad at this point," another added. Another follower pointed out, "Wow, he’s been quite for months. There’s no reason at all." 

The Brooklyn Nets Star's Instagram page returned on Friday, just one day after being suspended with no reason. The last time Irving shared a post on Instagram was in late December and from quick glance at his past posts, it's understandable why Irving and his fans questioned what the sudden ban was all about. His posts are mainly family related, inspirational, and spiritual. And his content is few and far between with only a little over 300 posts on the page since his first one in early November 2011.

As far as Irving's social media presence, he's not very active on Instagram or Twitter. He occasionally posts spiritual content on his Instagram page and will occasionally tweet messages such as this recent tweet, "KEY: Surround yourself with family and friends who will support your purpose/vision unconditionally and Love you no matter what. GOD knows who you need to be around. TRUST the Wisdom. And Protect yourself at ALL times along the journey, Question EVERYTHING!"

Irving has had his share of controversial moments in the past. From refusing to get the COVID-19 vaccine to sharing information on social media about a film that includes antisemitic comments to losing his Nike deal, Irving is no stranger to the drama. And now add his Instagram page suddenly disappearing to that list.

Will he ever find out why his page was banned? Who knows. And it's probably obvious to say it's not likely the last bit of controversy or drama that Irving deals with.
