As the NFL embarks on their upcoming Super Wild Card Weekend and postseason, one team just might have enough heart and firepower to make it to the Super Bowl, and win it. That team is the Los Angeles Chargers and they are bound to make some noise and here's why!

UPDATE: The Los Angeles Chargers were working on all cylinders but they reverted to what they usually do, and that is to blow any and all potential they have. This year resorted to the Chargers blowing a 27-point lead to the Jacksonville Jaguars, losing the game in epic fashion. Apparently, they didn't read this article to see what they should have done to actually become a winner..

LA Chargers Not So Secret Weapon Is Justin Herbert

The Los Angeles Chargers are a team that could make a deep post-season run. Finally healthy after a season hampered by injuries, the Chargers are peaking at the right time. Yes, you are going to say that they just lost in an embarrassing fashion to a miserable Denver Broncos in the last week of the season. But it seems among many things, the kick in the pants needed to right the ship.

One reason for this is the Chargers high-powered offense led by quarterback Justin Herbert. Herbert, who was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2020, has thrown for over 4,000 yards in each of his first three seasons in the league. Herbert set an NFL record by scoring his 101st and 102nd touchdowns of his career which bested Dan Marino's mark for the most

total touchdowns through a player's first three NFL seasons. Side Note, how great was Dan Marino, it seems like people are besting his all-time records every single year.

Anyways, speaking of great QB's let us get back to Herbert, who is not just great with his ability to beat you with his arm, Herbert is a true dual threat and he has the ability to make plays with his feet as well. But he can't do it alone.

LA Chargers Offense Is Loaded With Endless Weapons

In addition to Herbert, the Chargers have a number of talented playmakers on offense, including wide receivers Keenan Allen, Mike Williams and running back Austin Ekeler. These players are all capable of making big plays and breaking a game wide open, which makes the Chargers offense a tough unit to defend against. Mike Williams who is the king of the 80/20 ball, meaning if a pass is thrown up in his direction, he’s likely coming down with it is unfortunately out a few weeks with a back injury, but if they do what they can do, hopefully they can get him back in time for the Big Game.

Keenan Allen is the chain mover on the offense. When it comes to picking up a crucial third down, Keenan is the best in the business. Now, for the first time all season, Herbert’s receiver's are healthy and will be on the field together. And that is why we should not forget about Austin Ekeler, who has been the glue that’s held the Chargers offense together all season. Arguably the MVP of your fantasy football team, Ekeler has tallied another epic season of production, posting more receptions than Davante Adams, more rushing yards than Alvin Kamara, more receiving touchdowns than Mike Evans and more rushing touchdowns than Christian McCaffrey. For Los Angeles to make a deep title run, he’ll have to be in the mix.

LA Chargers Have A Scary Defense And Special Teams To Win

There’s an old saying that defense wins championships and that was the thinking when the Chargers hired Brandon Staley as their head coach, the defensive mastermind behind the Los Angeles Rams number one overall defense in 2020. One of Staley’s first big moves was trading for all-pro linebacker Khalil Mack, reuniting the pair from their time in Chicago. Mack joins a

strong defense led by defensive end Joey Bosa, and all-pro safety Derwin James. Bosa is one of the best pass rushers in the league and has the ability to disrupt plays and create turnovers.

James is an up-and-coming Pro Bowl caliber player who has shown great potential in his first few seasons in the league. Together, these stars anchor a defense that is among the best in the league.

If football were simply about offense and defense, the Chargers very well could have won a Super Bowl by now, but there is a third side of the ball and its special teams. The Bolts have had historically bad special teams play the last several years. Missed field goals, botched punts and special teams miscues have cost the team dearly and have been their Achilles' heel in recent years. The team changed all that by bringing coordinator Ryan Ficken from the Vikings. With continuity in place and a feel good story in undrafted kicker Cameron Dicker, aka Dicker the Kicker, the Chargers special teams are turning things around.

LA Chargers First Test Will Be The Jacksonville Jaguars

With the offense, defense and special teams heading into the playoffs, the Chargers have a well-balanced team that can win it all. Their high-scoring offense and tough defense make them a team no one wants to face in the one and done tournament.

First up, they travel to face the Jacksonville Jaguars at 5:30 pm pst Saturday January 14th. In a fifth seed versus fourth seed match up that will offer the Chargers an opportunity for revenge after losing big with a 38-10 beat down from the Jags in week three.

If the Chargers, who are favored get past the Jags they will likely play the top seeded Kansas City Chiefs for a third time this year. Although they lost twice to the Chiefs in the regular season both games were very close. If I had to guess, the Chiefs will be quietly rooting for the Jaguars to win this Saturday because it is a tough task to beat a team three times in a year.

Another advantage for the Los Angeles Chargers is that last year we all saw a Los Angeles Rams team have a great amount of luck along with their talent to lead them into a Super Bowl win. The way things look right now, the Los Angeles Chargers are on the same boat. Let's see what happens.
