Cheryl Burke is ready to find love again!
The dance queen is getting set to start dating again less than four months after her divorce from Matthew Lawrence. Although the exes finalized their divorce last September, she is yet to find a partner — unlike her ex-beau, who is already in a new relationship.
Cheryl Burke Plans To Follow In Her Ex-Husband's Ways Of Returning To The Dating Scene
Days after her ex-husband and his new squeeze, TLC singer Chilli became social media official, Burke has reaffirmed her intentions about returning to the dating pool. The "Dancing with the Stars" alum had initially kicked things off by asking her followers, "Did you step out of your comfort zone this week? If so, what did you do?"
After one responder excitedly told her they had gone on a date, she created a video reply. For the clip, Burke donned a three-tier necklace and earrings over a black tiny-strapped outfit. The "I Can Do That" alum's ears are plugged with a pair of AirPods as she told viewers:
"That is something I need to do, hopefully soon. Congrats."
This would be Burke's first insight into her love life following the cryptic message she posted after news of Lawrence's new relationship broke. The Blast noted that the 38-year-old dropped her opinion about the situation on her Instagram Story with a black screen and Pink Pantheress' "Boy's a liar" playing in the background.
On the screen, she wrote, "That was fast…" seemingly referring to Lawrence's quick return to the dating scene. The cryptic post came just hours after a spokesperson for Chilli confirmed her romance with the "Mrs. Doubtfire" actor.
After the rep, Christal Jordan claimed that she had never seen Chilli — real name Rozonda Thomas — "this in love" before, she added, "She is glowing. They are really cute together."
Although the pair first sparked romance rumors after they were seen together in Hawaii last August, news outlets revealed that they started dating three months prior. However, Chili's spokesperson had denied all rumors of them being together at that time.
The "Waterfalls" singer took matters into her hands by dropping the clip which we previously mentioned on Instagram. The video featured the lovebirds dancing to A-ha's 1985 hit song, "Take On Me."
Chilli added the hashtags "newyearshenanigans, onesiegang, and wecute," to the clip of her and her beau wearing matching onesies. One fan gushed that even though the singer had a heart "that can dance," it was more important that "your heart found its perfect match. Matthew is little sister/publicist/bodyguard approved!!! What a beautiful start to 2023."
The comment warmed the heart of the "Living Single" star, who replied, "Awwww shucks," alongside a lovestruck emoji. Other commenters lauded Lawrence for making a move on Chilli and hoped for the relationship's longevity.
Cheryl Burke Talked Likelihood Of Losing Her Dog Amid Custody Battle With Her Ex
Burke opened up about her feelings regarding the potential loss of her dog in a legal custody battle against Lawrence last October. The dance pro addressed the issue in an episode of her "Burke in the Game" podcast that saw her admitting that she considered herself a "dog mom" with her Frenchie, Ysabella, being her daughter.
The Blast shared that after recalling how she learned about the finalization of her divorce during the season 31 premiere of "Dancing With The Stars," Burke said:
"It's still not over because we have to maybe go to trial — well, we are going to go to trial unless [Lawrence] all of the sudden calls it off. That will happen in January. I'm still just really hurt by the whole situation."
The television host, who could not hide her emotions about the unpleasant situation, continued, "I couldn't even imagine my life; I mean, I could just cry right now. But I couldn't imagine my life without her."
Burke added that despite the unexpected length of the battle, she had become more aware and present in the season than ever. The "Dance Moms" contestant also pointed out her decision to surrender to "the good, bad, and ugly," which was equally scary and eye-opening.
