Cheryl Burke is in her feelings about potentially losing her pet.
The star has been in the news lately for the highly publicized divorce proceedings from her husband of three years, Matthew Lawrence. While everything might have settled, a custody case concerning who gets their dog has the dancer geared up to face her ex in court one more time.
Cheryl Burke Faces Another Possible Trial Over Dog Ownership

The 38-year-old feels very hurt that she might have to give up her dog, a Frenchie named Ysabella, and she is not willing to let go without a fight. She recently said as much in her iHeart podcast titled “Burke in the Game” that she considers herself a dog mom, and Ysabella is her daughter.
During the latest episode, the podcast host had recalled that she learned her divorce had been finalized during the premiere night of “Dancing With The Stars” before delving into the pending custody battle. Burke said:
“It’s still not over because we have to maybe go to trial — well, we are going to go to trial, unless [Lawrence] all of the sudden calls it off. That will happen in January. I’m still just really hurt by the whole situation.”
The TV host, who was evidently emotional about the entire ordeal, stated, “I couldn’t even imagine my life; I mean, I could just cry right now. But I couldn’t imagine my life without her.”
She continued by sharing that while the short journey felt so long, she was very aware and a lot more present during the season than ever. The pro dancer also mentioned that she decided to surrender to “the good, bad, and ugly,” and although a bit scary, it was eye-opening.

Fans will recall that some time ago, in February, Burke filed for divorce from the 42-year-old, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. The now-divorced couple, who did not have any trouble figuring out their properties, could now have to battle it out for the pet.
While the idea of securing custody of her beloved dog is still in question, documents obtained by The Blast in September revealed that Burke was able to secure her amassed fortune due to a prenuptial agreement signed by both of them before their marriage in 2019.
The agreement stated that she would keep all royalties and earnings from her time with the dancing show alongside any money and residuals from “QVC.” At the same time, the former child star would keep his residuals and royalties.
The court initially decided to stay clear of determining custody of their pet Frenchie, which Burke some time ago attributed to being integral to her mental healing during the divorce case.

After the news of the filing went public, the 38-year-old took to her Instagram to reflect on the ongoing situation. The first picture showed the star makeup-free while getting a sun-kissed selfie, while the following slide featured the beloved Ysabella in a walking harness posing with her mama. She captioned the post:
“Taking a few days alone to focus inward, reflect, and try to feel my feelings – with my partner in crime, of course.”
The “Dance Moms” Star Talks Impact Of Childhood Trauma On Her Relationships
The “Hell’s Kitchen” VIP guest got candid about how things she went through as a child affected her behavior in relationships as an adult, per The Blast in August.
She made the revelation on the “Allison Interviews” podcast, saying that she never understood the true meaning of love and that love to her was negative and meant infidelity because of the early years she spent in an abusive environment.
The “Prime Time Emmy” winner admitted to falling into a pattern of being attracted to unfaithful, non-available, and abusive men. She attributed it to not having any good father figure in her life and the sexual abuse she went through at a younger age.
Despite that, Burke noted that she was now aware and had to leave the past where it was to work towards a healthier and happier future.
