Hollywood star Hugh Jackman is taking his "feud" with Ryan Reynolds to the next level.

The "Logan" star recently asked the Oscar Awards team to boycott Reynolds's new song "Good Afternoon." The song, which came from his 2022 Christmas film "Spirited," earned a spot on the Oscar possible nominations shortlist, and Jackman was not happy.

Jackman is set to star alongside Reynolds in the upcoming "Deadpool 3," where he will reprise his iconic role as Wolverine. The two will be spending a while together as filming for the movie will soon begin. Jackman is also currently closing the chapter of his Broadway run as "The Music Man" to focus on his superhero flick.

The "Greatest Showman" actor tweeted a video on Wednesday begging both fans and the Academy not to nominate "Good Afternoon" in Oscar's Best Music (Original Song) Award category. This action comes as a part of the duo's play-fight, as there is no actual feud between them.

In the clip, Jackman first joked about wanting to start off the year with positivity, then noted that the news of the Oscar shortlist ruined his plan. He said, "Hey everybody, it's 2023 and I really really wanted to send out a positive message at the beginning of the year, but recent events have made that impossible."

He asked fans to make sure that Reynolds' song isn't nominated as the "Deadpool" star would brag about it nonstop to him. Jackman noted expressly, "Ryan Reynolds getting a nomination in the Best Song category would make the next year of my life insufferable." This request from the star comes after the Academy released their shortlist of 15 possible nominations for the category, including "Good Afternoon."

The Academy included "Good Afternoon" on its shortlist with 14 other original songs that could be nominated in the 95th Oscars' Best Music (Original Song) award category this year.

The other shortlisted songs included entries from popular artists like The Weeknd for his performance of "Nothing Is Lost (You Give Me Strength)" for "Avatar: The Way of Water," Rihanna for "Lift Me Up" from "Wakanda Forever," Selena Gomez for "My Mind and Me" from her autobiography with the same name, and Lady Gaga for Hold My Hand" from "Top Gun: Maverick."

While he begged the Academy to ignore the song, Jackman insisted that he had no issue with the "Spirited" film or "Good Afternoon" itself. He even noted that he was a fan of the movie but just didn't want Reynolds to earn an Oscar nomination.

The "Logan" actor complimented the movie and expressed how "absolutely brilliant" and funny it was. He said, "Don't get me wrong, I loved 'Spirited.' It's a great movie... I love Will [Ferrell], I love Octavia [Spencer] ... the song 'Good Afternoon,' I laughed the entire way through."

While he loved watching the film, he didn't want Reynolds to get the chance to brag to him on the "Deadpool 3" set about getting an Oscar nod. The actor noted, "I have to spend a year with him shooting Wolverine and Deadpool." He added, "Trust me, it would be impossible. It would be a problem."

However, he joked that he didn't want the "Adam Project" actor to get "validated" with an Oscar nomination. He begged, "Please, please, from the bottom of my heart – do not validate Ryan Reynolds in this way. Please."
