Dan + Shay Star Shay Mooney Flaunts His Shirtless Body After His 50-Pound Weight Loss: 'Just Consistency'

Shay Mooney, one-half of the iconic duo Dan + Shay, recently made an Instagram post flaunting his shirtless body after losing over 50 pounds. Mooney shared before-and-after photos of his weight loss and also encouraged fans seeking to lose weight. The singer stated that consistency helped him change his world in just six months.
Mooney's fellow country singers, such as Carrie Underwood, Brian Kelley, and Cole Swindell, took to the comments to celebrate his weight loss journey. Mooney previously made an Instagram post about his decision to lose weight, saying he wanted to change his life for good.
The singer also previously revealed that he lost weight by changing his diet, cutting out alcohol, and doing some exercise. He's also expecting a third child with his wife Hannah, with whom he already has two boys. Dan + Shay recently celebrated their 10th anniversary with an emotional throwback post on their Instagram.

Shay Mooney Shares His Before-and-After Photos
Dan + Shay star Shay Mooney kicked off his 2023 by making an Instagram post showing off his shirtless body. The shirtless post were before-and-after photos of Mooney following his recent 50-pound weight loss. He captioned it "Consistency. I changed my entire world in 6 months. No gimmicks or fads. Just consistency."

The 31-year-old added, "If that tired guy on the left can do it so can you." In the "before" picture, Mooney posed in front of a mirror, showing his previous size, wearing just black Calvin Klein briefs. In the "after" photo, Mooney looked almost half the size of the "before" photo. He also wore just a pair of gum shorts to show off how toned he'd become.

Several of Mooney's fellow country singers then took to the comments section of the weight loss post to celebrate his journey and congratulate him on his success so far. Singer Carrie Underwood commented, "You should be proud!" while former Florida Georgia Line member Brian Kelley wrote, "Freaking gettin' it, dude!"
Trevor Holmes commented, "Hell ya dude looking good," and singer Joel Alexander wrote, "Those old pants would just fall right off ya!" Cole Swindell added, "Hell yeah brother" Many of Mooney's fans also added messages of support and congratulations on his weight loss success.
Mooney and his wife, Hannah, are currently expecting their third child. They already have a five-year-old son Asher, and a two-year-old Ames.

The "Dan + Shay" singer had previously written on Instagram about why he decided to lose weight, saying he no longer recognized himself. On December 2nd, Mooney made a post, writing, "I got to a place mentally and physically that I will never go again."
He also wrote, "It matters what we eat. It matters who you spend your time with. It matters what you choose to spend your time on. I'm so thankful for the people in my life that helped me make a change. No one forced me into this. I wanted to change my life for me."
Mooney then explained that he'd never felt more alive after he lost the weight. The "Speechless" crooner also revealed in a post in October 2022 that his weight loss routine included "eating clean/not drinking alcohol and walking 7 miles a day." He said he also added some weights to his workout routine, which really helped.
Dan + Shay Recently Celebrated 10 Years Together
Mooney's country music group, Dan + Shay, marked their tenth anniversary with a sweet Instagram post to celebrate. The post included several photos of the duo through their ten years together. Along with the compilation video, they wrote a caption thanking fans for their support over the years.
The caption read, "We met exactly 10 years ago today (December 7, 2012) and our lives were forever changed. With your love + support, we've been able to accomplish so many incredible things that we've dreamed of since we were little kids. The one thing that has been a constant throughout our decade-long journey is our friendship. More importantly than anything else, we're genuinely just two best friends who get to do what we love together and we wouldn't trade it for the world."
The duo then said their relationship is now "stronger than it's ever been," especially as they're working on their fifth studio album.
