"Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest" is one of the most popular ways people ring in the New Year.

Millions of viewers worldwide tune into the special as artists perform some of their most popular songs and have a party in New York City -- but the highlight of the night is when the iconic ball drops at midnight, ringing in the New Year.

Ryan Seacrest became the official host of the show in 2007 as Dick Clark was dealing with speech impediments, resulting from dysarthria, which was an effect of his stroke. Sadly, Dick Clark passed away in 2012, but the show continues his legacy year after year.
