Valerie Bertinelli Shares Gratitude For Family Support On First Christmas Since Divorce

Valerie Bertinelli is giving thanks for having her family supporting her all through the year.

The actress took to Instagram to pen an emotional piece for her fans in which she reflected on the values of the festive season and expressed her gratitude for her loved one standing strongly by her. In the comment section of her post, fans of the star also sent in their goodwill messages and well wishes.

Bertinelli's Christmas address comes after she finalized her divorce from her husband, Tom Vitale, in November, officially ending their ten years of marriage. Earlier in June, she shared that she had no plans of finding love again amid her divorce battle.

Taking to Instagram, Bertinelli spoke from her heart as she penned an emotional message to her fans to mark the festive season.

The Food Network star also used the opportunity to appreciate her loved ones for being a pillar of support in her life all through the year.

"Merry Christmas, everyone! As we end another year, I cannot help but feel grateful for the love and support of my family and loved ones," Bertinelli wrote in her post, which included a uniquely designed cartoonish illustration of Santa Claus.

The 62-year-old then emphasized that family time should be prioritized throughout the holiday season before wishing her fans the best as they make merry with their celebrations.

She added in her thank you note, "There's nothing quite like spending time with the people who matter most, and I hope you all can do the same this holiday season… Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy new year! Love, Valerie."

After her post on gratitude, fans trooped into the comment section to exchange Christmas greetings with the "One Day at a Time" star.

One follower said, "Merry Christmas to you and your family also. Yup, for that family togetherness, I bought everyone a game."

Another fan penned, "Merry Christmas, Val! Here's to a happy and healthy 2023! All my love and light to you!"

One more fan wished the star the best of life for the new year, saying, "Hope you're having the best Christmas ever and that 2023 brings good health and most of all PEACE."

"Merry Christmas, Valerie & Wolfgang. I think you two are awesomely real. Much love; God Bless," another fan wrote to the actress and her son Wolfgang Van Halen, whom she shares with her ex, late rock star Eddie Van Halen.

After first filing for legal separation (as reported by The Blast), last month, Bertinelli finalized her divorce from Tom Vitale after being married to him for ten years.

In commemoration of the annulment, she posted a clip of herself expressing her happiness at being no longer legally tied to her ex. She said in the video. "My lawyer just called. The papers are all signed. They're about to be filed. On 11/22/22, I am officially f***ing divorced. Happily divorced. Finally. It's finally over."

"She then ended the video by exclaiming, "Yes!" while wearing a huge smile on her face.

After first requesting a formal separation in November 2021, Bertinelli filed for divorce six months later, in May 2022, before the divorce was finalized in November 2022.

Per People, the actress paid her ex-husband $2.2 million to satisfy all claims between them. None of the duo received spousal support, as stated in their prenuptial agreement.

On whether she would get back on the dating wagon any time soon, the actress shared on the "Today Show with Hoda Kotb" last June that it was not part of her plans.

Her reason for opting out of love for the foreseeable future was that her divorce would make it extremely difficult to trust anyone again with her heart.

The "Hot in Cleveland" star said on the show, per People, "Because of the challenges that I'm going through right now, because divorce sucks. I can't imagine ever trusting anyone again to let into my life. So I have some trust issues that I'm sure I'm going to have to get past."
