Jesy Nelson was once bitten, but clearly not twice as shy.
The British singer, who is gearing up to relaunch her solo career, has reportedly enlisted the help of an ex-boyfriend for a brand-new music video.
According to reports, Nelson has hired her on-off boyfriend, Harry James, to direct the music video for her impending single allegedly titled, “Cried Out.”

Now, if James’ name sounds familiar, well that’s because Nelson hired him to direct the music video for her highly controversial song “Boyz.”
James nearly derailed Nelson’s first attempt at a solo career.
Following “Blackfishing” claims and garnering a storm of backlash, Nelson jumped ship from her record label, Polydor, and cut ties with James.
She is reportedly dating British rapper Zion Foster and the couple recently went public with their relationship.
Jesy's Theme Of Hiring Exes & Starting New Relationships Could Be Disastrous To Music Career
Nelson and Foster were spotted at WLYD, a hot spot in London. She couldn’t keep her hands or her lips off of him.
A source told The Sun, “The club was packed but Jesy and Zion only had eyes for each other. They may not have officially put a label on things but they couldn't keep their hands off each other. It was pretty clear they are both really into each other."
Nelson tried to keep a low-profile by keeping her sunglasses on in the club the entirety of the night and she kept the boozing to a minimum due to her busy schedule.

This theme of hiring James to direct her music videos, and being in a relationship at the start of a new musical chapter could be detrimental to her career as a solo artist.
The Blast recently reported on Nelson’s split with her label and James.
In an attempt to ensure her authentic self and music is heard/well received, Jesy severed ties Polydor earlier this year.
Billie Eilish and Same Fender are part of the Polydor family.
The label confirmed that they are no longer working with Jesy in a statement to Metro UK.
“Polydor have amicably parted ways with Jesy,’ the statement began. “We have enjoyed working with her and everyone at the label wishes her nothing but the best for the future.”
Music insiders revealed to The Sun that Jesy’s decision to split from Polydor was due to her wanting a fresh start.

“Jesy decided it was the right time for her to make a clean break,” the source explained. “She and the label have been going in different directions in recent months. And while there hasn’t been a fall-out, Jesy just felt it was better to start afresh now – while everyone was still friends.”
The source explained the British pop singer enjoyed her time with Polydor; however, she feels the she had different musical ideas than what Polydor was wanting.
“She now wants to be able to fully develop her own ideas as an individual artist,” the source revealed.
Jesy is determined to redeem herself and make her solo career work.
