Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter has denied rape allegations made against him by a woman with cerebral palsy. The singer, who recently lost his younger brother, Aaron Carter, was hit with the heavy accusation by a lady named Shannon "Shay" Ruth via a Facebook Livestream.

A very teary-eyed Ruth, alongside her lawyers, alleged during the press conference that Carter sexually assaulted her at the age of 17 back in 2002. She further claimed that he left her with a bruised arm after calling her a "re***ded b**ch."

Carter has now come out to deny the allegations calling them "legally meritless" and "entirely untrue," adding that the now 39-year-old Ruth has been manipulated several times to make these rape accusations against him.

According to Page Six, the "I Want It That Way" crooner has denied the recent allegations made against him by a woman named Shannon Ruth, who has cerebral palsy.

In a statement to the news outlet made by his attorney, Michael Holtz, Carter slammed the allegations as completely false and "legally meritless." He also revealed that the lady in question had been manipulated several times to make these accusations against him.

The singer's attorney said (via Page Six), "This claim about an incident that supposedly took place more than 20 years ago is not only legally meritless but also entirely untrue. Unfortunately, for several years now, Ms. Ruth has been manipulated into making false allegations about Nick – and those allegations have changed repeatedly and materially over time."

According to Ruth (via The Blast), she thought that she would "go to jail" for her claims against the singer, hence the silence all these years. But now, the young woman has a different perspective on things and is seeking to hold Carter "accountable" in order to "stop him from assaulting more teens and women."

She said, "just because Nick Carter is a celebrity does not mean that he is excused from his crimes. I am a survivor and always will be."

The alleged victim's lawyer, Mark J. Boskovich, also revealed during the press conference that three other "Jane Does" have been named in a joint lawsuit filed alongside his client, Ruth.
