The 35-year-old detailed the extreme heartache she felt losing her twin brother just a month away from celebrating a milestone together. She posted the tribute to her Instagram page, accompanied by a sweet throwback picture of them as kids while admitting that she was grateful for the support from everyone, but it still hurt.

"I want to start by sharing how much I appreciate all the birthday wishes. While today is incredibly tough, I am overwhelmed by your love and support. Thank you from the bottom of my heart," the singer began the lengthy message.

Angel recalled that she had already lost a sibling, Leslie, over a decade ago, which she said left her feeling "broken, confused." It made her question her existence at the time, only to once again deal with losing her twin, Aaron.

The TV personality noted that as twins, they had an indescribable bond as she acknowledged that she felt too young to bear the weight of the double loss. The star stated that Leslie's demise came as a shock writing:

"Aaron, however, we had tried everything. In fact, I spoke with him two days before he passed, and I begged, once again, for him to let us help."

Heartbroken, the reality star noted that she did not expect that to be the last time she would hear his voice. And now, on their birthday, it was hard to understand how to navigate the unbearable loss caused by untreated mental illness and addiction.

The Tampa native described his death as the worst day of her life because she had loved him since they were born. She admitted that the pain moved her to step up to the responsibility of doing something for other families in their position by announcing a benefit concert.

She noted that the concert was to raise awareness for mental health, with all proceeds going to "@onoursleevesofficial." The "Fake Friends" singer then asked her followers to check the link to learn ways they can support the organization's work.

The "House of Carters" alum also noted the concert date would be on January 18, 2023, ending her message by accepting that the pain of the loss would never go away. And that it would take some time as she appealed to fans to join the cause in his memory.

Since the hitmaker's death, his family has taken to remembering him in several ways via social media. One that fans will recall is the sweet way his fiancee did by posting what she referred to as his last picture before his death on her page.

The Blast noted that Melanie, who shared a son Prince with the "Leave It Up to Me" singer shared an intimate picture of both of them in bed. In it, the late singer looked happy as he smiled at the camera while lying on the bed as the former waitress slumbered beside him with her hand on his face, which he probably found hilarious.
