Over 700 individuals have now upvoted a comment deeming photos of Ireland Baldwin‘s latest street outing “shocking and offensive” in the context of them forming a news story. The 24-year-old daughter to Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger was snapped on L.A. streets this week as she headed out to adopt a puppy. The model – known for rocking a braless finish – now sees a slew of complaints left to British newspaper The Daily Mail. People quite simply seem done that a woman opting out a bra is a headline these days.

Ireland – who just this month had readers deeming her revealing braless protest look “disrespectful” – appeared to have readers on her side this time. The beauty was seen on a sidewalk and flashing both her tattoos and her cleavage as she walked solo, makeup-free, and seemingly a target for the paparazzi. Ireland wore tight, high-waisted jeans flaunting her Amazonian frame, plus a yellow and short-sleeved top with a plunging neckline and, unsurprisingly given the headline, no bra.

The Daily Mail comes with handy green upvote arrows and red downvote ones. Shooting right to the top of the comments section with 704 upvotes was a user writing: “I finding shocking and offensive that you can make a whole story about a lady not wearing a bra.” The thought was echoed by a comment clocking over 340 likes as a user wrote: “How ridiculous that DM have to make a story out of someone going out braless. If she’d been wearing a bra, I’m guessing the story wouldn’t have happened. Pathetic.” More below.
The issue of sexism was also raised. “Why are you putting an article up commenting that a female is ‘bra-less’. Is that news, and what has it really got to do with the world if she is bra-less. Do you share articles of men with the title that they aren’t wearing underwear?” one user asked. Ireland has been making headlines this month both for going braless and – many might argue more importantly – attending Black Lives Matter protests, with her most recent appearance seeing her hand out Kit-Kats and Reese’s candy to others.
Ireland may not have read the comments left to The Daily Mail, but she reads the replies left to her Instagram, followed by 598,000. 2017 saw the star body-shamed, with the clap-back coming as Baldwin posed in underwear and wrote: “I am not going to be body shamed for being pale or not stick thin. I’m not going to spend hours photo shopping my authenticity away. I’m not going to beat myself up for not looking like someone else. I’m not going to be told that I’m damaged goods because of my tattoos.”
