Olivia Munn & John Mulaney's Son Malcolm Turns 1 — Inside His Cake-Filled Celebration

Olivia Munn and John Mulaney’s son Malcolm marked his first birthday, and he discovered his love for chocolate cakes.

The former “Attack of the show” host and the “Saturday Night Live” writer began dating in 2021. Later that year, they announced they were expecting a child.

As Malcolm marked his first birthday, the actress and the comedian serenaded their son with love and lots of cake.

The proud mom who had been looking forward to this milestone shared a carousel of pictures on Instagram. In the snaps, the adorable boy sat on his dad’s lap dressed in a white shirt and gray shorts, and on his head was a brown crochet crown with “1” on it.

Mulaney, who held onto his son, wore a similar outfit to that of his son while the “Beyond the Break” actress donned a green wrap dress that featured a slit as she held onto a chocolate cake decorated with an elephant trunk and pink ears.

In almost every snap on the carousel, the birthday boy was stuffing the chocolate cake into his mouth with utmost dedication, staining his shirt in the process.

Alongside the cute snaps of the family, the “Date Night” star gushed about her little boy in the caption. She wrote, “Just got back from celebrating ONE YEAR of the most joyful baby being in this world and in our lives. My son, my joy. Happiest Birthday Malcolm Hiệp! I love you so so so much.”

Naturally, fans and other celebrities filled the comments with birthday wishes for the boy. Tv host Jeannie Mai wrote, “ Ahhh, happiest birthday em oi!” while actress Mindy Kaling dropped, “Yay, he’s the best!!! and happy one year of being a mom.” Actor Karan Soni also pointed out that it was the “correct way to eat cake.”

Another post the “Mortdecai” actress uploaded showed when the birthday boy was still skeptical about feasting on his birthday cake till the actress’ mom gave him a taste of it. 

However, this was a good thing, as the proud mom noted in the caption that after this, he started eating the cake. It would appear that Malcolm loves cake after tasting it!

One final upload from the heartwarming celebration was a video where Malcolm stuttered the words “I love you.” In the clip, the new one-year-old was trying to take the cake when he said, “I love you.” The stunning mom-of-one revealed in the caption that this was the first time she had heard him say it.

Most fans in the comments thought the boy was professing his love for cake after trying for the first time. 

A few days ago, the actress began the countdown to her son’s celebration. As we reported earlier, the actress anticipated her son’s first birthday while reminiscing on his early months as a baby. She shared an adorable throwback picture of herself and the little boy.

In the snap, both mother and son were seated on a brown sofa, as Munn was dressed in a black shirt and gray skirt, while her son was in a gray onesie and a wet green bib. “Going through my pics because Malcolm turns 1 next week! Here we are in July when he first started drooling nonstop, and I got a spray tan,” she captioned the post.

Fans of the “Predator” star and other celebrities joined her in counting down to her son’s special day. Award-winning host Jeannie Mai wrote, “Ahhh lil Malcolm we’re so excited to countdown to your big year ??.”

A fan wrote, “Congratss❤️❤️ time flies so fasttt ❤️❤️” and another fan gushed about how cute Malcolm looked, writing, “He’s literally the cutest little munch.”

The Oklahoma native and the writer’s first child together appear to be growing up so fast and reaching important milestones, as he has already started saying his words.

The actress shared the heartwarming moment when her son said his first words with her fans. In the post’s caption, the actress revealed, “His first word was Daddy/Dada ??his second word was chó (Vietnamese for dog), and his third word is car ?.”

Since welcoming her son, the 42-year-old continues to serenade the internet with adorable pictures of the boy. However, one thing she loves to do is watch Mulaney and Malcolm spend time together.

Such was the case when we reported that the former “Daily Show” host showed off her boys spending time together. In the photo shared, little Malcolm playfully sat on his father’s neck and looked sideways, wearing a long-sleeved white shirt with gray pants.
