The “Dancing With the Stars” finale was one for the books!
The final four contestants for this season included “Bachelorette” lead Gabby Windey and dance partner Val Chmerkovskiy, TikTok star Charli D’Amelio and dance partner Mark Ballas, “Let’s Make a Deal” host Wayne Brady and dance partner Witney Carson, and Drag Queen Shangela and dance partner Gleb Savchenko.
These four couples battled it out for the Mirror Ball Trophy last night during the long-awaited finale — but there could only be one winner.
Warning: Spoilers Ahead
In fourth place, it was Shangela and Gleb Savchenko. Wayne Brady and dance partner Witney Carson came in third place, leaving the final two to be Gabby Windey and dance partner Val Chmerkovskiy, and Charli D’Amelio and dance partner Mark Ballas, which shouldn’t be a surprise as these two dominated the top of the leaderboard since week one.
In the end, Charli and Mark took home the Mirror Ball Trophy.
Fans Are NOT Happy With The ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Results
After the Mirror Ball Champions were announced, fans immediately took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the results.
One fan felt Gabby Windey should have won. “hate to exposed myself as someone who has been watching dancing with the stars every week but gabby was robbed I hate it here,” they wrote.
Another chimed in that they felt Shangela deserved to win. “Real election fraud in America is Dancing With the Stars votes being rigged against Shangela,” they Tweeted.
That is something many other fans also expressed. “I’m sorry Shangela deserves to winning Dancing with the Stars just because there has never been anything like that freestyle performance ever on this show,” one user wrote as another chimed in with a GIF of Regina George screaming from “Mean Girls” writing, “shangela not only lost dancing with the stars but came in 4th place…”

“Dancing With the Stars” Finale
The “DWTS” finale consisted of two rounds — a redemption round and a freestyle round. The redemption round focused on a dance style the couple performed earlier in the season, chosen by the judges.
First, head judge Len Goodman, who announced his retirement on the show last week, chose Wayne Brady and Witney Carson’s redemption round dance. They performed a Quickstep to “(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher” by Jackie Wilson.
Next, Carrie Ann Inaba chose a Jive for Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas’ redemption dance. The two performed their dance to “Grown” by Little Mix.
Judge Bruno Tonioli was assigned to Shangela and Gleb Savchenko, and chose Quickstep for their redemption. They danced to “Queen Bee” by Rochelle Diamante.
Last up, Gabby Windey and Val Chmerkovskiy’s redemption dance was chosen by Derek Hough. The two danced a Cha Cha to “I Like It (Like That)” by Pete Rodriguez.
For the freestyle round, Wayne and Witney danced to “Get Up / 24K Magic” by Ciara ft. Chamillionaire / Bruno Mars while TikTok star Charli and dance pro Mark danced to “Us Again” by Pinar Toprak.
Drag queen Shangela and dance partner Gleb danced their freestyle to “Survivor / Call Me Mother” by Destiny’s Child / RuPaul, while Gabby and Val danced to “Cell Block Tango” from Chicago.
