Martin’s move out of their home comes shortly after Carter’s recent death at age 34. According to TMZ‘s initial news report, Carter’s body was found in the bathtub, and responding officers discovered multiple cans of compressed air in the bathroom and bedroom and several prescription pill bottles.
Police sources for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department told People they’d discovered a body just before 11 a.m. but had yet to officially identify the person. They later confirmed Carter’s death, saying a house sitter found his body. The cause of death is yet to be determined, and the police reportedly believe the singer first lost consciousness and then drowned.
Melanie Martin Released A Statement On The Singer’s Death
In a recent statement to People, Martin spoke about her feelings since Carter’s death was confirmed. She said, “My heart is completely broken over the passing of my fiancé Aaron. I knew he was struggling, and I tried everything to help him. He has a very independent and strong personality, and I couldn’t help him in the way I felt he needed it.”
Martin also expressed that she wished she had more support and people to help Carter but now has to be strong to raise Prince “as a single mother.” Martin also said his death was “the worst day of my life.” She’d earlier posted an emotional TikTok, talking about her feelings on his death.
