Neil Patrick Harris And Family Create Annual Epic Halloween Scene

Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka go all out every Halloween. This year was no different.

Their fans patiently await the holiday just to see what epic costumes and scene they'll come up with this time around, and they never seem to disappoint. This year, the family of four dressed up as beloved fast food mascots. Both Harris and Burtka posted photos of their Halloween scene on Instagram. Harris shared the final product captioned, "Trick Or Meat. Happy Halloween from the BOOrtka-Harris Family."

Harris, 49, dressed as Ronald McDonald, Burtka, 47, was the Burger King, Harper Grace, 12, was Wendy, and her twin, Gideon Scott was Colonel Sanders. Surrounding them in the photo are empty fast food containers, wrappers and food.

Fans were excited to see this year's costume choices. One follower commented, "You can’t top this!! I don’t care what anyone says ??." Another jumped into the comments to say, "The best yet ❤️❤️❤️❤️." And another added, "Your family Halloween photo is something we look forward to every year. Thank you for continuing the tradition and sharing with all of us."

KFC wanted to get in on the action writing, "The most ambitious crossover event in history." Access Hollywood added, "We need an amendment to the iSpy Halloween book ASAP." 

Other comments included, "I live for this reveal every year! And every year you never disappoint," "You have set the bar high for family portraits!," "Been looking forward to this yearly pic. Happy Halloween ?. Y’all never disappoint" and many others.

Outtakes and behind the scenes moments can be found in a carousel of photos on Burtka's Instagram page. Photos included in the post captioned, "Trick or Meat!! Here is our family Halloween photo, year 11! I hope “da da dat da daaaaa your lovin’ it” Plus extra behind-the-scenes photos. Happy Halloween!!" was one of Harris doing Burtka's makeup, a few of the kids getting prepared and a some others.

Fans were already excited to see what the family had come up with for this year's holiday, but Harris decided to post a teaser on Halloween Eve so no one would forget the fun was just around the corner. He shared a photo of three jack-o-lanterns captioned, "Happy Halloween Eve! Hope everyone had a weekend of fright, and are looking forward to tomorrow..! Xoxo ???"

Fans ready for the costume unveiling hopped into the comments to make it known they cannot wait to see what Harris and Burtka's Halloween has to offer this year. "I’m here just waiting for the family Halloween costume!!! ?," one follower wrote. Another added, "You are the champions of the family costume, what happened this year?" One other fan said, "Only a matter of time until the family Halloween costume photos!! ??"

Last year, the family dressed up as classic horror film characters. Harris was Norman Bates from "Psycho," Burtka was Jack Torrance from "The Shining," Gideon dressed as Chucky from "Child's Play" and Harper was possessed Regan from "The Exorcist." In 2020, the family took a whole different direction and dressed as characters from "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory."
