Martha Stewart may not have an attention-grabbing love life at the moment, but she is certain about what she wants in her dating life.
While recalling her past dating experience on the "Drew Barrymore Show," Stewart openly shared her preferences with Drew Barrymore, hinting that she may be open to dating someone as inked like Pete Davidson.
Martha Stewart Wouldn't Mind Dating Someone Like Pete Davidson
The program kicked off with the host introducing "the legend, the icon, the one and only Martha Stewart" before she asked who was single and married in the audience — the result was a 50-50 split.
Barrymore then said she had been single for several years, while Stewart mentioned she had not been in a serious relationship for three decades which she was not proud of. The "Blended" actress asked why, leading her guest to say, "I was stupid." She added that she should have married along the way while dating.
Following her divorce, the reality star admittedly did date "a lot" but did not view marriage at the time as a priority which she regretted. She further confessed that she missed the fun of it all, not so much the companionship. This prompted Barrymore to exclaim, "Well, let's get you on a date!"
Stewart said she was swamped, which she regularly used as an excuse, but the host insisted it would be a pleasant experience. However, in some cases, when Barrymore saw some people's relationships, she appreciated being single.
The conversation led to a dating game involving red, yellow, and green flags, which the show's presenter waved. Red signified "No, no, no, no" Yellow meant being "on the fence," while Green was a go.
When asked to pick a flag if her date had as many tattoos as Davidson, she waved the green flag prompting Barrymore to declare that she knew her guest would give such a dating experience a go.
The award-winning TV presenter then said, "There's a thing on the internet where everybody wants you to go on a date with Pete Davidson." Stewart noted that the prominent comedian had dated many women, which she believed was good, before calling him "sort of cute."
She also mentioned that she knew Davidson, surprising Barrymore while recounting their work together on the Justin Bieber Roast. At the same time, she said he was "trippier than Bieber" and "very cute." The 81-year-old did not seem interested in the "SNL" alum romantically, as she stated that she saw him like her lost son when Barrymore implied otherwise.
Stewart has constantly dismissed the notion of any romantic involvement with Davidson, even after more speculations arose after his split from his ex Kim Kardashian. A social media picture featuring herself, the comedy star, and Kardashian, may have contributed to the rumors, given that she held hands with him in the snap.
The Blast reported that she quelled the rumors by insisting there was only a platonic relationship between them. "Pete Davidson is like the son I never had," the octogenarian told Daily Mail. "He is a charming boy who is finding his way. I've invited him to come on my podcast, and I look forward to hearing what he has to say."
As for the picture causing fans' speculations, it showed Davidson posing in the middle of Stewart, who stood on the left, and his ex, who rocked a shimmering silver ensemble, standing on his right. The shot was captured at the White House Correspondents' Dinner and came about when the retail businesswoman went over to welcome the couple.
The "Martha Stewart Living" Star Launches New Las Vegas Restaurant With Snoop Dogg
While rumors about Stewart's possible affair with Davidson circulated, the magazine publisher opened her Las Vegas restaurant with none other than her bestie Snoop Dogg by her side.
The Blast noted that the grand opening of 'The Bedford by Martha Stewart" took place sometime in August and included wellwishers like Ellen Pompeo in the celebration.
It is no news that Stewart is popularly known for her cookbooks; however, her then-new restaurant, designed after her home in Bedford, New York, was her first full-service restaurant.
She once said in a report, "We have worked tirelessly to bring my farmhouse in Bedford, New York, to Las Vegas, and I think visitors will be enchanted by what we have come up with." The beautifully modeled eating spot features 194 seats with neutral colors complementing the dining room, whereas the kitchen has white marble counters.
