Jennifer Garner Tries "Everyone's Grandmother" Barbara 'Babs' Costello's Pumpkin Carving Hack

Like many people scrolling Instagram or TikTok, Jennifer Garner saw Barbara "Babs" Costello sharing some tips and tricks for carving a Halloween pumpkin and wanted to give it a "spin." Spoiler alert! It works!

Costello, otherwise known as "The Internet Mom/Grandma" on Instagram and "Everyone's Grandmother" on TikTok, posted her pumpkin carving hack video on social media where she runs through the steps on how to carve a pumpkin the easy way. The video was viewed more than 22.9 million times on TikTok!

"?The Do’s and Don’ts of Pumpkin Carving ? It is a treasured tradition in our family to carve jack-o-lanterns for Halloween," she began her caption. "But with all the yuck and mess, sometimes my kids would quit the project before we even started. Babs’ Do’s and Don’ts for Pumpkin Carving, saves the mess and speeds up carving with no mess and no fuss. Happy Halloween ? XO Babs"

Costello's Instagram video received more than 7,000 comments. One follower wrote, "Oh hello I was today years old when I realized I’ve been making the jack-o-lanterns upside down my entire life ??." Another added, "SOMEONE GIVE THIS WOMAN A NOBEL PRIZE. This is all groundbreaking information to me. I’ve been doing Halloween wrong my entire life." One follower added what many are probably thinking, "Omg , did we like have a life before Babs , did we know anything?"

After watching Costello's pumpkin carving tutorial, Garner assembled all the necessary supplies - a good-sized pumpkin, carving knife, and hand mixer, and began her experiment. After cutting the bottom of the pumpkin as Costello suggests, Garner pulls out the hand mixer to clean out the pumpkin and shows her followers just how easy it really is (and that it works!) She then spoons the seeds out with ease and puts them into a bowl, looking slightly confused on how it really is as easy as Costello made it appear in her video.

Many of Garner's Instagram followers were excited to try this out themselves. Cookbook author Amanda Haas commented, "BEST NEWS EVER! I just saw @kalejunkie do this on IG this morning and now you! Can’t wait to try it! ??? ???✨" Chef Catherine McCord also wants to give it a whirl writing, "Doing this TODAY!!!!! ???" Molly Sims added, "This is amazing and doing." Many other comments mirrored the same reaction saying they will be trying this hack out, it's genius, and Babs needs her own show.

Costello is known for sharing tips, tricks, and hacks, as well as yummy recipes. She has 2.5 million followers on her TikTok page just waiting to see what she will share next. She was recently featured on an episode of "TODAY with Hoda & Jenna" teaching the world how to keep the dishwasher clean and fresh. Costello has also appeared on an episode of "The Drew Barrymore Show" and has her own cookbook called, "Celebrate with Babs: Holiday Recipes & Family Traditions."
