Hollywood veteran Whoopi Goldberg reacted to Meghan Markle's claims that she was objectified while starring as a briefcase girl on NBC's money game show "Deal or No Deal."
The Duchess of Sussex recently claimed that the show valued her for her "beauty" and not "brains," adding that she did not enjoy being "forced to be all looks and little substance."
In response to Markle's remarks, Goldberg launched a rant at the star, saying her comment was insensitive to other people who played the role, adding that the viewers were more interested in the money than objectifying her.

Whoopi Goldberg Slammed Meghan Markle For Her 'Objectified' Remark
On Wednesday's episode of "The View," Goldberg criticized Markle for a recent comment about feeling "objectified" when she worked as a briefcase girl during the acclaimed game show "Deal or No Deal."
The mother of two had previously stated in an episode of her "Archetypes" podcast that the showrunners "forced [her] to be all looks and little substance," grinning and smiling whenever she revealed the content of the case.
The "Suits" alum played the role across 34 episodes of the show, spanning 2006 to 2007. Following her stint, she went on to build her movie career, starring in numerous films and series.
In response to Markle's claims, Goldberg seemed to call out the former Royal for thinking that her role in "Deal or No Deal" would play out differently than what she claimed.
"That's TV, baby … what did you think you were going to do? You know that's what the show was," the veteran host said.

Digging deeper, Goldberg further opined that she believes viewers were more interested in the money rather than actively objectifying the "Suits" star.
"I don't know that the people who are sitting there are thinking about you like that. They're thinking, 'I want the money,"' the "View" cohost said. "Because Vanna White is always in something interesting and beautiful, and she's been doing this..."
She added, "The objectification might be coming from you and how you felt about how these women were being portrayed, and that's what you have to change, because we're performers. When you're a performer, you take the gig."
The "Sister act" star went on to say that Markle's comment was insensitive to former briefcase girls, adding she should not make them feel bad "because they're trying to make a living too."
Meghan Markle Dissed 'Deal or No Deal'
Goldberg's comments come after Markle stirred controversy following her claims on an episode of her "Archetypes" podcast, which guest-starred Paris Hilton.
The mother of two compared her time on the game show with her stint as an intern at the US Embassy in Argentina. She said the latter "valued [her] specifically for[her] brain" while the former "valued [her] for something quite the opposite."
The former actress said, "There was a very cookie-cutter idea of precisely what we should look like….. Girls would line up at tapings for different stations where they would put on lashes, get extensions put in or get padding in their bras — and they even received spray tan vouchers every week."
Markle also said per The Blast, "It was solely about beauty, and not necessarily about brains," adding, "I didn't like feeling forced to be all looks and little substance."
Megyn Kelly Says Meghan Markle 'Wanted To Be Objectified'
Since she made the remarks, Markle has received disses from different individuals apart from Goldberg. On Wednesday's episode of her "SiriusXM" show, media personality and journalist Megyn Kelly shared that the former Royal was well aware of what the job was all about before working on the program.
She said, per NYP, "[Markle] knew exactly what she was getting herself into on that job, and it was no surprise to her that they wanted her to look as good as possible while doing it," Kelly said of the 41-year-old on Wednesday.
Further commenting on Markle's remarks, Kelly labeled the Duchess of Sussex as the "Duchess of Duplicity." The journalist also said, "What she's trying to con us on now is whether she enjoyed it," before adding, "She loved every minute of it! She wanted to be objectified!"
