The public feud between Whoopi Goldberg and Meghan McCain might not be over yet due to the EGOT winner’s latest comments.
The daughter of late Republican Senator John McCain joined “The View” in October 2017. However, she frequently clashed with “The Stand” actress and Joy Behar, which led her to leave the show in August 2021 after four seasons.
On Saturday, during the New York Film Festival premiere of “Till,” Whoopi, 66, revealed that the ABC talk show has been “calmer” ever since Meghan, 37, took her leave.

On Saturday, October 1, Whoopi attended the New York Film Festival premiere of “Till.” While she was there, she talked to Page Six about the latest season of “The View” and how it was less stressful at the table without Meghan’s presence.
“It’s calmer because nobody wants to be that tired every day,” Whoopi told the outlet, insinuating that she was not the only one who was glad that Meghan left the show.
In August, the former Fox News host appeared on “The Commentary Magazine Podcast” to talk about why she had quit “The View.” Although things had been tense for months, it was a comment from Joy Behar that made her cry and realize that she had to leave the ABC talk show.

Meghan McCain returned to the show from maternity leave in January 2021 after giving birth to her daughter, Liberty. When she got back, Joy made a comment on air that made it clear that she did not want Meghan back on the stage.
“I finally went back to the show, and the day I went back to the show, Joy Behar said on air, ‘Nobody missed you, we didn’t miss you, you shouldn’t have come back,’” Meghan recalled. “And I just … I started hysterically crying. Sorry gentlemen, I know, I started lactating on air, and I started crying.”
The new mom said that she felt so overwhelmed by the comment that she actually physically threw up once she got back to her office. After thinking it through, she called her brother to get his advice on the situation. He agreed that it was probably best that she walk away from the show.
“I didn’t feel supported when I had my baby, and I didn’t feel supported coming back, and that was ultimately it,” she said. “That was why I left.”
As Page Six reported earlier this year, Meghan also said that part of the reason she left was due to Whoopi Goldberg, who Meghan claimed added an element of “unfathomable tension” to the panel.
In her audio memoir, “Bad Republican,” Meghan recalled, “The thing about Whoopi, though, is that she yields so much power in culture and television, and once she turns on you, it can create unfathomable tension at the table.”
“I found her open disdain for me more and more difficult to manage as the years went on and it became more frequent,” she continued. “Occasionally, if the show’s political discourse veered into territory that she found disagreeable, Whoopi would cut me off, sometimes harshly.”

In early August, Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro were announced to be joining the panel in season 26 to provide not one but two new conservative voices.
Alyssa Farah Griffin had previously served as Trump’s strategic communications director until she resigned in December 2020 and has since denounced the attack on the Capitol on January 6th.

Although Alyssa was a controversial pick, many welcomed Ana Navarro, who has been a vocal Trump critic.
Ana and Alyssa joined Joy, Whoopi, Sunny Hostin, and Sara Haines for the 26th season of “The View,” which debuted last month.
