“Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story”hit Netflix last month and instantly became one of the most talked about shows. In fact, to date, it is the second-most watched English-language series on the streaming platform -- only trailing behind the Netflix original series, "Stranger Things."

Alongside Evan Peters, who plays the notorious serial killer, the series also stars Niecy Nash as Dahmer's neighbor, Glenda Cleveland. Many fans have assumed that actors in the series may have faced mental health struggles while filming the series due to its extremely dark storyline.

Nash is now opening up regarding the role, even claiming it was her "most challenging job to date."

Niecy Nash Speaks Out Regarding Her Role On “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story”

Niecy Nash, 52, has just confirmed her role in “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” was not an easy one by any means. "Dahmer was my most challenging job to date …. " Nash wrote on Instagram. "Had to lean into my joy HARD during the filming process. Thank you Evan."

She went on to list many people, aside from Evan Peters, who stood by her side and helped her through the emotionally draining role. "My love JB [Jessica Betts] was my rock," she wrote.

"I was also filming Reno [911!] at the same time, my daughter Dia is funny and was a bright light who brought me joy on set & my girl Cardi B!," Nash continued.

Although the role was hard, the 52-year-old actress has received a ton of praise and support for her acting job. "I can't even focus on what I've gotta do next cause they won't shut up," Nash jokingly said.

“Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” hit Netflix on September 21, 2022 and instantly became #1 on the streaming giant. Evan Peters has been receiving Emmy-award buzz for his performance as the notorious serial killer, Jeffrey Dahmer, with some saying his acting was so good, they couldn’t watch the show because of how sick they felt.

Alongside Evan Peters, the series stars Niecy Nash (Glenda Cleveland), Molly Ringwald (Shari Dahmer), Richard Jenkins (Lionel Dahmer), Colin Ford (Chazz), Penelope Ann Miller (Joyce Dahmer), Michael Learned (Catherine Dahmer), Shaun Brown (Tracy), and others.

The series, which is a fictionalized account of actual events that occurred during the 1970s-1990s, gives Jeffrey Dahmer’s victims a voice. It also gives viewers “a critical look at systemic racism, white privilege, homophobia and the institutional failures that allowed Dahmer to murder and dismember 17 boys and men from 1978 to 1991,” according to Netflix.

Due to the success of “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,” Netflix just released “Conversations with a Killer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes,” which follows the same setup as the previously released limited series sharing the chilling tapes from Ted Bundy and John Wayne Gacy.

“Conversations with a Killer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes” uses never-before-heard audio interviews between Dahmer and his defense team. The new Netflix series hit the streaming service on October 7, 2022.
