“The Masked Singer” show disclosed during its season 5 premiere that the host of the show, Nick Cannon will be absent from the show for almost half of the season.

This came about after the comedian was diagnosed with COVID-19 and had to remain quarantined. Although fans were sad to see the singer go, especially for such a sad reason, they took comfort in the fact that his replacement was equal to the task.

However, this replacement also had to leave the talent show after a while. Find out why below.

Cannon is popularly known as an American comedian, but over the years, he has delved into other professions and careers.

Now, he’s a rapper, TV presenter, actor and host. Fans would not be surprised to hear that the actor owns a clothing brand. Oh well, he does! He owns the rights to a clothing company called PNB (Post No Bill.)

Cannon began his career at a teenage age and mixed his acting profession up with comedy and host business. As of 2020, the “Love Don’t Cost A Thing” actor is worth about $50 million.

Cannon officially began his hosting career in 2005 when he created and hosted a comedy series titled “Wild ‘N Out.”

For the next five years, he took the show to great lengths and branched out to engage in other hosting businesses. In 2010, he served as a co-host for a teen series called “The Nightlife.”

As part of his hosting career, Cannon became the host for “The Masked Singer,” but had to leave after his COVID-19 diagnosis. The producers of the show later announced that American comedian and actor, Niecy Nash, will fill in for him.

It’s true that when Nash came on the show as a host, fans did not know what to expect. Nevertheless, with time, she exceeded their expectations.

Her time on the show, although short-lived, showed fans how incredible she was at being a host and had them clamoring for more of her on the show.

During an interview, she said that when the opportunity was presented to her, she was sad about the circumstances surrounding her arrival on the show, but rose to the challenge. Thank goodness she did!

With an exemplary performance from the host, it was only fair that the show’s management sent her off in a grand style.

In the middle of the season, a new masked singer called ‘Bulldog’ joined the show and gave a rendition of “Candy Girl.”

Later on, it was revealed that this awesome singer was indeed former host, Nick Cannon. His re-appearance on the show, automatically meant that Nash’s time on the show had come to an end.

Fans will miss the comedian and wish her well in all she does. Welcome back Cannon!
