Johnny Depp played Jack Sparrow in all five “Pirates of the Caribbean“ films, including “Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl” (2003), “Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” (2006), “Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World’s End” (2007), “Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” (2011), and “Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” (2017).

However, due to his ex-wife’s, Amber Heard’s, allegations, Disney fired the actor and Depp will not return to the sixth installment of “Pirates of the Caribbean”.

Although Depp won't return as Captain Jack Sparrow, a new trend is popping up as Halloween costume stores are seeing a spike in sales for Depp's famous pirate character.

It seems as though the Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard trial only boosted Depp's popularity, especially since the trial was considered a win for the "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor. During the defamation trial against his ex-wife, Amber Heard, Heard’s attorney, Ben Rottenborn, asked Depp, while Depp was under testimony, “The fact is, Mr. Depp, if Disney came to you with $300 million and a million alpacas, nothing on this earth would get you to go back and work with Disney on a ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ film? Correct?”

To which Depp confirmed he would never return as Jack Sparrow, “That is true, Mr. Rottenborn.”

At this time, Depp is not returning to the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise for the sixth installment. Margot Robbie is currently set to star in the lead role.

Johnny Depp has been in the news a lot as of late, mainly due to his lawsuit against his ex-wife, Amber Heard, 35, who he sued for defamation after she wrote an op-ed for The Washington Post, where she referred to herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse.”

Due to Heard’s allegations, Depp’s career has taken a few hits. First, Warner Bros.’ “The Fantastic Beasts” franchise dropped the actor from the films and recast him with Mads Mikkelson. Then, the Walt Disney Company fired Depp from his iconic role of Jack Sparrow in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise.

During the trial, many witnesses took the stand, including Johnny Depp and Amber Heard themselves. Stories were told and photos were shown as thousands tuned into the trial every day.
