Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon are one of the biggest couples to come out of Bachelor Nation. The two have haad one of the wildest relationships over the course of several years, but finally got together and tied the knot in 2019. The couple currently has one child together.
To get some alone time, Ashley and Jared were invited to this season of "Bachelor In Paradise,"which is receiving some backlash from fans -- especially since they got the second most amount of screen time of everyone on Tuesday night’s episode.
Now, the couple is speaking out.
Ashley and Jared React To Bachelor Nation Backlash
Ashley spoke out about the backlash from Bachelor Nation while on her “The Ben & Ashley I Almost Famous” podcast , alongside co-host Jared Haibon.
The fans of the show claimed the couple was "boring as hell" after they received the second most amount of screen time on the most recent episode.
“Bachelor Nation wants more of us … not,” Ashley said while on air. “We got a lot of backlash — or we didn’t really get a lot of backlash but a lot of you out there did not want to see a married couple on the beach.”
Jared also opened up regarding the backlash they have received, saying it makes him sad.
“I think we thought when we both went down to Paradise that we were just gonna go down and we’d be one of the former couples that always goes down and we’re there for a little while, we’re not going to get much screen time, it was more for us and then we had the opportunity to hang out and go on a date. Even when we were still down there, I think you and I both were under the impression that we’re not gonna get shown that much.”
He continued, “Be honest with us and yourselves, you don’t watch the show for love. Which is totally fine, you watch it for drama. As long as you can admit that, then it’s fine.”
To which Ashley added, “We leave on Monday! OK, everybody happy? We’re gone!”
Do Jared and Ashley Regret Going On "Bachelor In Paradise"?
Jared went on to explain that despite the backlash, going into "Bachelor In Paradise" created so many memories for him, and brought a lot of happiness. “For me, watching back that date meant a lot and it gave me a lot of happiness because I remember having that conversation with Ashley and how great it felt to be able to say some of those things that, frankly, are tough to say because they’re awkward,” he explained. “In that environment, they’re not awkward because you’re forced to talk about them.”
Ashley added, “The fan reaction isn’t going to take away that moment for us."
Next week, the girls will hand out the roses at the rose ceremony, leaving some of the guys frantic to start making connections. "Bachelor In Paradise" airs on ABC every Monday and Tuesday. It is available to stream on Hulu the next day.
