A Contestant On ‘The Voice’ Got A Bit Flirty With Camila Cabello
Yahoo Online reporting on what transpired stated that a contestant, Jaeden Luke performed Croon Bread’s “Make It with You” in a way that blew the judges away. So much so that Gwen Stefani was “devastated” that she couldn’t turn to choose him due to her team being filled up.
Cabello was also out of slots but was even more devastated when she realized that the gorgeous contestant had sung his piece for her.
“Thanks for saying ‘baby.’ I might have been singing it for you,” Luke flirted. Responding to him with the same energy and twirling her hair, Cabello said, “Wow, Jaeden, you’re making my whole day. …You’re so cute and talented, and I like your style.”
Following the shocking interaction, Stefani and Blake Shelton could not hide their excitement about the flirtation between the two. The “Rich Girl” singer gasped, “Oh my God, oh my God, what is happening?” and her husband, Shelton, said, “He is swiping right, right now.”
The Flirty Contestant Ended Up Joining Blake Shelton’s Team
The other judges were not exempted from the spell-bound performance by Luke. “One thing that we haven’t talked about yet is that badass mullet that you just drug up on the stage, man,” Shelton said per Yahoo, complimenting Luke. The country singer told the contestant that as much as he enjoyed listening to his voice, he also loved Luke’s “direction as an artist.” Shelton shared how much he listened to Bread, saying he also enjoyed his music.
Since neither Cabello nor Stefani could accept Luke on their team, Shelton said, “I have one spot left on my team, and you could be the person who completes me.”
Luke eventually chose Shelton over John Legend, who also turned. Although the contestant said that “the finger convinced me,” in reference to Shelton pointing at him furiously, there’s a large possibility that the shared likeness for Bread’s music played an immense role.
Camila Cabello Almost Mistook A Contestant On The Show For Her Ex, Shawn Mendes
A few weeks before a contestant flirted with Cabello on ‘The Voice,’ she almost mistook one of them for her ex, Shawn Mendes.
Tanner Howe, a contestant, performed the song “Mercy” by Mendes, and it sounded so good that Cabello thought it was her former boyfriend singing. “Is that my — is that Shawn up there?” Cabello said to Shelton per The Blast.
Cabello was in major shock at the 29-year-old’s performance. She said to him, “I was like, is Shawn onstage right now?” Her fellow judge on the show, Legend, corroborated her speculations by telling the contestant that he sounded just like Mendes. Howe responded jokingly, saying that Cabello would know what Mendes sounded like since she dated him.
Despite her positive reaction to his voice, the “Havana” singer stated that she didn’t turn around for Howe because he “sounded a little bit too much like” Mendes. She further explained that it would be better for him to distinguish himself a bit from the famous singer. To this, Howe responded that he does see himself following the same “lane” as Mendes. However, he understood her point.
Camila Cabello Replaced Kelly Clarkson As A Coach On ‘The Voice’
After taking a hiatus last year, “The Voice” returned with a coach down. Clarkson, its long-time coach, stated that she needed a little time off from the rigors of the competition. Following the surprising exit, Cabello was brought in as her replacement.
The “Never Be The Same” crooner brings fresh energy to “The Voice” Season 22. Singing competitions are not new terrain for her as she had her first big break at 15, on “The X Factor,” where she was a part of the girl band Fifth Harmony. Cabello was also on “The Voice” as a mentor on Legend’s team last season.
Holding a successful solo singing and acting career under her belt, the talented vocalist Cabello, is set to do tremendously well as a coach on this year’s season of “The Voice.”
