Howie Mandel Takes Social Distancing to the Next Level

Howie Mandel has been very candid about his Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and how it has turned him into a germaphobe. While the coronavirus pandemic has been a trying time for many people, living through a pandemic of this level is like a living hell for people with OCD like Mandel. He has made a clear effort to enforce and follow CDC's recommendations of maintaining at least six feet of distance from each other which is also known as social distancing.

According to PopCulture, he is even enforcing social distancing with a playful sense of humor. He has been sporting a baseball cap that reads "do not disturb."

TMZ captured the look tweeting, "Howie Mandel Ventures Out with 'Do Not Disturb' Hat During Coronavirus Pandemic."

This comes after Mandel showed up to filming 'America's Got Talent' wearing a hazmat suit. Mandel was being extra cautious after his co-host Heidi Klum was escorted off set after feeling symptoms that were indicative of the coronavirus.

"Like many of you, I also have been sick all week and, unfortunately, my husband who returned from his tour a couple of days ago is also feeling ill," Heidi Klum wrote on her Instagram at the time of the incident. "To be safe, we are staying apart until we get the results of our Coronavirus tests (that we were finally able to get today) back. We don’t want to spread germs and risk others getting sicker... even each other!"

"As much as I want to embrace him and kiss him, it is more important to do the right thing and not spread further," Klum added

"These are strange times... but in these moments, you remember what’s really important- the people you love and keeping them safe," Klum continued. "Social distancing is what we all need to do right now to be responsible citizens of the world. We are all in this together and it is up to us to protect our loved ones, and our neighbors and our communities."

"I'm always on the verge of death in my head," he told '20/20' during a 2009 interview.

"In my mind [my hand] is like a petri dish. ... Otherwise I would spend the day, as I have in the past in my life in the men's room rubbing and scrubbing and scalding," he said.

"The biggest fear I have is being triggered," he said. "And if I'm triggered and I get some sort of weird thought in my head that can't go, then my day is, is stopped. My life stops."
