COVID-19 has sparked an abundance of both panic and precaution as the world tries to prepare for a global pandemic. People are self-isolating and taking every possible step to keep themselves safe. The CDC has recommended frequent hand-washing and keeping hands away from the face. While many states and countries are going into lockdown in what has been called “social distancing.”
And still, beloved celebrities have been announcing their struggles with the virus. Many were able to get testing right away, but not Heidi Klum.
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson were some of the first celebrities to have openly admitted to having contracted the virus. They received a test in Australia and were put in quarantine while health officials helped them to battle the virus. Hanks and Wilson have since been released from the hospital, but are still being held in isolation in their Australia home.
The incubation period for the virus is somewhat unknown. Some it could take two weeks or more for symptoms to show. However, the average length of time tends to be around five days.
Hanks and Wilson’s story was immediately viral, but they are far from the only celebrities who have been dealing with the virus in one way or another. Many have been taking the time to get tested, especially athletes involved in the world of sports.
Other big names like Kris Jenner have taken the test. Jenner thankfully was found not to have the virus though she came in contact with someone who had contracted it. Idris Elba has tested positive but is not showing symptoms at this time.
Klum has been openly sharing her experience trying to track down a COVID-19 testing kit for some time. The supermodel and actor has been having a difficult time gaining access to a kit, despite the fact that she says she has been showing symptoms.
Klum has reportedly been dealing with a cough and fever. She has also experienced chills and a runny nose since she first noted being sick. She tried in vain to find a test and informed her followers that there simply wasn’t one in the area.
Klum was finally able to take a test a couple days ago and is still waiting for the results. Her husband sometimes travels for business and was also tested. His result was negative.
Because her husband was found not to have the COVID-19 virus but she still does not have her test results, Klum has continued to keep herself isolated and plans to do so until she is given the test results. She is expecting to hear something back by Thursday.
