Week 3 of the NFL was full of surprises. During the Buffalo Bills vs Miami Dolphins game, Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was allowed back in the game after he was seen wobbling on the field after suffering a bad hit, concerning many NFL fans. Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen also made headlines after he was seen ripping the helmet off of a Dolphins player.

The Dolphins went on to win the game 21-19, resulting in Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey having a complete meltdown in the press box.

And if that wasn't enough excitement for NFL fans, the "butt punt" is now going viral -- something former New York Jets quarterback, Mark Sanchez, is sort of familiar with.

NFL's "Butt Punt"

Miami Dolphins beat Buffalo Bills at Home at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami 21-17

During the fourth quarter of the Bills vs Dolphins game, the Dolphins punter Thomas Morstead was lined up to kick the ball from their own end zone. The snap was clean and Morstead dropped and punted the ball, however, one of his blockers was a bit too close, sending the ball directly into Trent Sherfield's rear end.

The ball ended up bouncing off of Sherfield's backside and out of the end zone, resulting in a safety for the Bills.

The punt will forever go down in the history of the NFL as "the butt punt."

If the name of this play sounds familiar, it is because several years ago, on Thanksgiving Day (November 22, 2012), something similar happened when Mark Sanchez was quarterbacking for the New York Jets.

Sanchez played in the NFL for 10 years, spending five of those years with the New York Jets. Although the quarterback threw 15,357 passing yards and 86 touchdowns over the span of his career, his most famous play is the "butt fumble."

The then-Jets quarterback was facing off against the division rivals, the New England Patriots, when he ran into offensive lineman Brandon Moore's backside, causing the football to become loose and Sanchez to fumble the ball -- resulting in the name "the butt fumble."

Well, the star of the "butt fumble" is now speaking out about the "butt punt" in yesterday's Bills vs Dolphins game.

"Woah… stay out of my lane bro," Sanchez hilariously Tweeted yesterday after the game ended.

Fans of the NFL loved Sanchez's dig at Sherfield as over 37,000 people liked the Tweet.

Sherfield also made fun of the "butt punt" he was involved in, Tweeting out, "My cheeks have a big W tatted on them ?." The Tweet garnered nearly 15,000 likes.

Despite the punt not going the way the Miami Dolphins may have hoped, they still went on to beat Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills 21-19. The Miami Dolphins are now one of two 3-0 teams in the NFL, alongside the Philadelphia Eagles after the Indianapolis Colts upset the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs, making the Chiefs now 2-1, as well as the Green Bay Packers beating out the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, resulting in the Bucs to also be 2-1.

The New York Giants could join the Dolphins in being undefeated if they beat the Dallas Cowboys tonight during Monday Night Football.

Monday Night Football will air on ESPN tonight, September 26, at 8:15 p.m. ET.
