Kelly Ripa Told 'Bathrobe' Mini Dress Too Short: 'Not A Good Look'

Kelly Ripa fully admitted not expecting her red velvet mini dress to be quite that short this week – the "Live! With Kelly and Ryan host" said that it "looked longer in the picture" as she appeared on the series' Instagram for her regular outfit-of-the-day showcasing on Monday night.

Kelly, 49, might turn heads on account of her jaw-dropping workout body and steely pins, but viewers to the star's video last night seemed to have a message for her. Not only did the dress look like a bathrobe, it was way too short.

The video showed Kelly in the backstage dressing room that's the standard setting for her OOTD videos. The blonde was talking about her Reformation dress and showing off the wraparound red number's thigh-grazing length as she posed in a stylish pair of Gianvito Rossi heels. Reformation recently made headlines for being a brand that Kelly wears "on repeat."

Kelly addressed the dress' micro-length from the get-go.

"I expected it to be, like, a midi," she said, adding: "And it's a M-I-N-I." The star also confessed that she'd not expected it to be quite so short when viewing pictures.

Fans have been leaving comments to the video. While some threw out praise for the former "All My Children" actress' impeccable style, others seemed less keen. These comments garnered the most likes as Kelly was flat-out told that her dress way too short.

"Not liking this," one fan wrote.

"Robe, too short...not a good look," another added with others agreeing.

"Looks like a bath robe," a third said.

"Hugh Hefner's robe" was also used to describe the dress, with one fan simply replying: "No."

Kelly had dedicated most of her video to her outfit, although she did go off on a tangent. The star spoke of how pronounces the word "syrup," stating that she and her family go down the French route – "sirop." Kelly mentioned 18-year-old daughter Lola Grace in this context, with it all starting as Kelly said "aminal" with regards to her animal-print shoes.

"My son used to say aminal," she said.

Certain things were then listed as ones that Kelly says bizarrely, with "sirop" included. Lola used to asked for waffles with "butter and sirop."

A fan stated that their household says "Siri-up."

Kelly garnered few complaints when it came to her sensational legs. The star has been making headlines for opening up about her diet – she quit alcohol nearly three years ago – with her People interview also seeing a mention made of the Alkaline Diet that she sticks to.

“I believe inflammation is one of the great killers of people, in different ways. Whether it’s digestive problems, or heart health, or brain inflammation. Inflammation really affects your body in totality, so I try to maintain a really alkaline diet," she told the magazine.

This isn't the first time Kelly's been warned on the dress length. A Gucci look recently sparked the exact same reaction.
