'Love Is Blind' Star Danielle Ruhl Declares 'I Will Never Be Perfect'

Learning about and working on developing self-love can be an extremely difficult and frustrating process.

However, "Love Is Blind" star Danielle Ruhl has chosen not to turn a 'blind' eye to any part of her personal mental health journey and has been immensely transparent in sharing her experience with her fans and social media followers.

Ruhl, 29, is continuing to transparently discuss her mental health on social media in the wake of two major events in her life: the announcement of her divorce from husband Nick Thompson, and the premiere of "Love Is Blind: After The Altar" on Friday, September 16th, which had been filmed prior to the couple's decision to part ways.

Late last month, The Blast reported on the surprising news of Ruhl and Thompson's surprise split after one year of marriage.

The divorce documents, which had originally been obtained by TMZ, revealed Ruhl filed for divorce in Illinois.

There were also photos of the couple looking pretty cozy and locking lips only a month before the news broke.

Ruhl recently began giving her Instagram followers a glimpse into her post-divorce life, sharing another transparent update on her Instagram story.

We have covered Ruhl's public discussions about her mental health on social media extensively, including her update from a few weeks ago where she spoke out and acknowledged her divorce publicly for the first time.

"It's funny when people are like, 'How are you so happy?" Ruhl began in the update, which had been posted to her Instagram story, "Would you rather have me post an Instagram Live of me crying for eight hours straight because I can do that if you want [me] to! That's my reality."

She continued, "If you would rather have me sit here and post Stories sobbing, I can easily do that. It's what I spend most of my days doing. But I do cry all of the time. I cry easily. I cry when I'm happy, I cry when I'm sad, but who wants to see that?" Ruhl asked.

In addition to originally reporting on Ruhl's update, Us Weekly also shared that Ruhl had also included a candid photograph with her update, wherein she had been crying.

Alongside the photo Ruhl had written "can barely see out of my eyes from crying. I deal with these situations like anyone else..."

"Love Is Blind: After The Altar"s three reunion episodes were filmed prior to the couple's break-up and public announcement of their divorce.

Since their premiere last Friday, Ruhl has understandably been facing a lot of questions from fans about the specifics surrounding her relationship.

Last night she returned to her Instagram stories to clear up a few details.

In a series of text posts, Ruhl shared, "[The reunion] was filmed in March right after I moved in [with Thompson], Nick and I are no longer together. For those who rooted for us. Thank you," and also stated, "Although hard, I will share why once I am able to."

She also gave insight into her experience with attending therapy after "Love Is Blind" completed production.

"I went to a lot of therapy post-show like daily, (and found out I was on the wrong meds that had adverse reactions) and got more used to cameras so [I] felt more comfortable being myself. Also growing closer with everyone in the cast made me more comfortable," she shared.

Ruhl also later filmed a series of videos where she continued to discuss her mental health.

In the first slide, she says, "I think it's pretty safe to say that I have made and continue to make a lot of mistakes, I will never be perfect, and I think that is pretty apparent. I don't think anyone will be, and I will never be, and I've come to terms with that..."

She continued by saying "All I can do is, every single day, focus on understanding what my flaws are, especially in terms of my communication or the way I can react to certain things based on past trauma experiences, anxiety [and] depression experiences et cetra, and I swear, I try to learn from my mistakes every single day so that I can put my best foot forward in the future..."

Ruhl and Thompson's divorce announcement came shortly after their co-stars Iyanna McNeely and Jarrette Jones announced their decision to end their marriage via a joint statement on their respective Instagram accounts.
