JLaw Worried She Wouldn’t Fall In Love With Baby Right Away
JLaw admitted it was “scary” to talk about becoming a mother after friends warned her that she may not “fall in love right away” after giving birth.
Luckily for the actress, giving birth had the total opposite effect on her.
She admitted that as soon as she gave birth, it felt like “day one of my life.”
While Lawrence is head over heels in love with her baby and being a mother, she held out on talking about it given that everyone’s journey is different.
“It’s so scary to talk about motherhood. Only because it’s so different for everybody,” she explained. “If I say, It was amazing from the start, some people will think, It wasn’t amazing for me at first, and feel bad. Fortunately, I have so many girlfriends who were honest. Who were like, ‘It’s scary. You might not connect right away. You might not fall in love right away.’ So I felt so prepared to be forgiving.”
Before welcoming her son, Lawrence didn’t think she could love her little one as much as she loves her cat.
“I remember walking with one of my best friends at, like, nine months, and being like, ‘Everyone keeps saying that I will love my baby more than my cat. But that’s not true. Maybe I’ll love him as much as my cat?’” Lawrence admitted.
Lo and behold, Lawrence ended up loving her baby more than her cat.
Jennifer Had Two Miscarriages Before Having Cy
“The morning after I gave birth, I felt like my whole life had started over. Like, now is day one of my life. I just stared. I was just so in love. I also fell in love with all babies everywhere,” she gushed. “Newborns are just so amazing. They’re these pink, swollen, fragile little survivors. I love all babies. Now I hear a baby crying in a restaurant and I’m like, Awwww, preciousssss.…”
Lawrence also admitted that watching her husband become a father has stretched her heart to a capacity she didn’t know existed.
She also opened up about a miscarriage she suffered in. her early 20’s. The actress was planning to get an abortion before her body naturally aborted the baby.
“I had a miscarriage alone in Montreal,” Lawrence admitted.
She suffered another loss while filming “Don’t Look Up” in late 2020/early 2021.
