'RHONJ' Margaret Josephs Ex, Jan Josephs, Passes Away Unexpectedly

Real Housewives of New Jersey star Margaret Josephs shared with her followers this weekend that her ex-husband Jan Josephs passed away early last week. The passing was unexpected for the reality star and their children.

Josephs shared an emotional post about Jan on Instagram. “Today would have been Jan’s 75th birthday, he passed away unexpectedly last week and a piece of us died with him. We are heartbroken.”

The designer went on to recap her last moments with her ex-husband, a man who, even after a divorce played a huge role in her life and the life of their children. “The night before he left us we shared a beautiful conversation of how blessed we are, our children all successful and happy, and that we could only brag to each other.”

Jan made a few appearances on the show and was always so gracious towards Margaret to the point where fans believed he was still in love with her.

Margaret spent a lot of time on the show being extremely honest about her relationship with Jan. She shared that not only did she cheat on Jan and that was the reason for the end of their relationship, but she went on to marry the man she cheated with Joe Benigno.

However, this didn’t stop the exes from always being there for one another even when they were not on the best of terms. We spoke every day, he was my family. Jan was an amazing father, grandfather, friend, and partner to his girlfriend, he loved everyone unconditionally, he loved Motown, working out, and Italian food, but most of all he loved his family.”

Margaret posted a great photo of Jan alongside the sentimental message. He looks young, hip, and in his prime, as she likes to remember him. She writes, “I chose this photo not only because it was one of his favorites but because he had a youthful spirit and will be forever young. Happy Birthday my angel.”

The entrepreneur was supported by her reality TV family. “Happy heavenly birthday Jan ❤️i hear the oldies playin from here,” commented Dolores Catania. “What a beautiful photo. My heart is sad for you and your family. We love you,” wrote Dorinda Medley.

Margaret’s bestie Jackie Goldschenider also sent well wishes, “Happy birthday Jan. I know he was so loved.” Others like Joe Gorga, Melissa Gorga, Braunwyn Windham-Burke, and Heather McDonald also sent condolences to Margaret and her children.

It was revealed not by Margaret that Jan passed away from a heart attack just days before his 75th birthday. In the past, Margaret’s relationship with the kids went south when she left their dad.

He had three kids ages 8-16 when he met and married Margaret. They then had one child together but all the kids agreed that Margaret felt like their real mother. This is why the breakup was so hard on them all.

It was reported that they were all able to come together and put their differences aside to celebrate Jan’s life.
