#TaylorHawkinsTribute Trends On Twitter To Honor The Late Taylor Hawkins!

Taylor Hawkins' memory is being honored with a tribute concert!

The late Foo Fighters drummer tragically passed away on March 25th of this year, at only 50 years old.

Hawkins, who had been a founding member of the band, left his mark on the music industry in a tremendous way; countless musicians paid tribute to the beloved rocker after news broke of his passing.

Now, five months later, many big names have gathered at Wimbley Stadium in London today to honor his memory! According to Pitchfork, Hawkins' surviving Foo Fighters bandmates organized the show.

As of this writing, the concert is still streaming live and will be available for later viewing on Paramount+.

Hawkins' death was announced on Twitter via the Foo Fighters' official account.

The band's statement read, "The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins. His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever. Our hearts go out to his wife, children, and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in the unimaginably difficult time."

Hawkins had died in Columbia, ahead of a scheduled Foo Fighters performance at the Festival Estero Picnic music festival, according to Newsweek.

No official cause of death had been reported for the drummer, according to the BBC. According to one of The Blast's reports in our coverage of Hawkins' passing, it had been previously reported that Hawkins had died of a drug overdose before subsequent reports were released, revealing Hawkins had an enlarged heart.

The Daily Mail had reported forensic experts had discovered Hawkins' heart had weighed "at least 600 grams." (per The Blast)

An average human heart is said to weigh approximately 300 to 350 grams.

Foo Fighters canceled all of their remaining tour dates following his passing. The band also did not perform at the Grammys, but Hawkins had been honored at the ceremony. Billie Eilish had also dedicated her performance at the ceremony to Hawkins. (per The Blast)

Several celebrities have also paid tribute to Hawkins in concert, including Miley Cyrus, Liam Gallagher, and Elton John.

In June, the Foo Fighters revealed tribute concerts had been in the works for their late drummer, the first of which would take place on September 3rd at Wimbley Stadium.

The band's Twitter account shared a poster featuring a slew of bands and artists who had signed on to appear, including Gallagher!

Notable artists featured on the poster for September 3rd include Pretenders frontwoman Chrissie Hynde, Mark Ronson, Joshua Homme, Stewart Copeland, surviving Rush members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, Queen's Brian May and Roger Taylor, Wolfgang Van Halen, and more! (via The Blast)

Comedian Dave Chappelle is also slated to appear.

A subsequent tweet from the band read, "The Taylor Hawkins tribute concerts will benefit charities in the UK chosen by the Hawkins family. Beneficiaries and further details will be announced shortly."

The hashtag #taylorhawkinstribute has gotten a lot of mileage on Twitter today!

Fans came together to discuss the heartwarming six-hour-long tribute concert.

Twitter user @blissfull fiction attended the show and shared their experience with a photoset.

Their tweet read, "I haven't cried, screamed, sang or felt anything so loud or so much in my life. I hope Taylor heard us up there. It was one for the books. He wouldn't have believed it was all for him. Forever missed. We love you T."

@NewsFromTiffany shared that a video of a crying Dave Grohl singing the Foo Fighters song "Times Like These" "Ripped my heart out. May the universe never bring tragedy to this man's life again."

Many other users came together to marvel at Hawkins' 16-year-old son Shane's drumming skills as he joined the band for a performance of "My Hero."

@chrisneilmckay tweeted a photo of Shane on stage and shared, "Cannot comprehend the mental dexterity it must take to even contemplate taking on a task like that. This whole show has been brilliant."
