Cher Is Not Fond Of Dua Lipa Being Called 'The Cher Of Our Generation' On Twitter!

Cher is rather secure with her legacy, thank you very much!

The 76-year-old entertainer and veteran pop diva had a few choice words regarding social media comparisons between herself and one of the biggest modern-day pop starlets, Dua Lipa!

Twitter lit up last night after a fan compared the "Levitating" singer, who rose to fame in the mid-2010s with her infectious pop melodies and eye-catching fashion sense, to the one and only Cher.

The lively conversation did not go unnoticed by the "Moonstruck" actress! Cher, who has been incredibly active on 'the bird app' over the years, acknowledged the tweet and pondered the answer to a certain question in response.

Cher's Twitter account has acted as the entertainer's primary method of communication with her fans and has also acted as her chosen space to share her thoughts.

The "Believe" singer has shared many candid moments on the 'bird app,' including one such moment last spring when she let fans know the reason why she had been briefly "missing in action."

According to our report, Cher took a brief hiatus from social media which she addressed upon her return.

Cher's tweet read, "Sorry I've been MIA. Been having Personal Problems," emphasizing the words "personal problems" by capitalizing them.

She went into further detail after a fan asked if she was feeling okay.

In her passionate all-caps response, Cher gave further insight into her aforementioned "personal problems."

"SOMETIMES WE [crying emoji] A DIFFERENT KIND OF TEARS. TEARS THAT HURT. WE BECOME OVERWHELMED, REACH A LIMIT... THEN ARE FORCED 2 PUSH THAT LIMIT," she wrote.

Cher later addressed her mental health further with a positive update regarding the situation.

She tweeted, "I'M BETTER 2DAY. SOMETIMES I REACH WHAT I THINK IS MY LIMIT, THEN REALIZE, I'VE GOT MILES MORE "LIMIT" IN ME.  SOMETIMES I GET ON, WHAT I "THINK" IS MY LAST NERVE, THEN FIND LOTS MORE "LAST NERVES TO GET ON. SOMETIMES I NEED 2 REGROUP, REBOOT GIVE "ME" A TIMEOUT, THEN SAY FK THIS. I WON'T STOP."

Cher isn't only sharing candid confessions on Twitter. She shares exactly what is on her mind at any given time over any given situation!

She absolutely did not hesitate to share her thoughts regarding a Twitter user's opinion that Dua Lipa, who released her first studio LP five years ago, was "The Cher of our generation."

Cher's response caused the original tweet to gain a large amount of traction to the point where, as of this writing, has been deleted!

Cher asked, "How many yrs are in a generation" and included a pondering face emoji.

Responses soon came flooding in.

Twitter user and Cher fan, @SoPerferToDance, responded, "You're the only Cher of all generations, they can be beautiful and talented but no one compares, it's like comparing candles to a supernova you win [crown emoji]."

Some fans were all here for the two artists being compared to one another!

A Dua Lipa fan account, @DuaLipaFuturee, tweeted a special request.

"We want a collab" the account owner shared, to which a fellow fan commented, "See, THIS is the energy I can get behind."

As of this writing, Dua Lipa has not weighed in on the discussion.
