You Can't Take My Daughter follows the efforts of a woman to change the judicial system in America for the better. When the film's heroine realizes there is no protection in place for rape victims to terminate the parental rights of individuals who raped them if there was no criminal conviction, she fights for justice. In a world where sexual assault cases are difficult to prosecute, this movie feels all too real for many victims. How will the story end for this character?

In the real-life story, Megison was a law school graduate. While she now works in the financial field, she worked hard to prevent her rapist from successfully suing for custody of her daughter in 2010.

This film is just one of many that Lifetime has been airing on Saturdays as part of their "Ripped from the Headlines" series. Former Saturday films have included Chris Watts: Confessions of a Killer, Stolen By My Mother: The Kamiyah Mobley Story, and Poisoned Love: The Stacey Castor Story.

Lifetime's new feature stars Lyndsy Fonseca as Thompson, the woman who seeks to transform everything. Fonseca describes her character as "the definition of a mother warrior" in an Instagram post. She also reveals that the story is a brave one.

Fonseca will play against Hunter Burke as Demetri, the man who attacks the heroine. The film also stars Kirstie Alley, Diane Robin, Jason Burkey, and Michael Woods.

One thing is clear: Lifetime network fans love stories based on true stories. Who's going to be watching?
