Tyrus Shares Biggest Surprise We Will See During His NWA 74 Match

The match between Trevor Murdoch and Tyrus is going to have many people talking for a long time no matter what the results are on the night. And we are likely going to see something we never thought we'd see during the encounter and Tyrus mentioned a few things that might surprise us as he mentioned, "I think they are going to be surprised how physical it is. I think they're gonna be surprised that probably one if not both of us are not going to be the same after it. It's one of those things where I'm not going against a guy who can't hit back. I'm not going against a guy I can necessarily bully around the ring and it's the same thing for him and neither one of us are, how do I put this, neither one of us are afraid to push the envelope so you know once that bell rings it's all bets are off. But I will say this, there will be no outside interference, there'll be a finish in the ring, there will be no outside stuff, none of that stuff. I won't have 30 guys in my corner because it's not just about the NWA Championship. I mean people will be surprised how close Trevor and I are and this is what's difficult, because as it gets closer that is all getting strained."

And there is a reason it is getting more strained as Tyrus continued, "I twisted Fox News arm and they wanted me to do another podcast and I said, "Sure if I can do it my wrestling buddies!" And Trevor and I and we got Kevin Kiley, AKA Alex Riley and Heath Slater and Aaron or Idol or Sandow and Ego, like we put together this squad and with special guests and stuff and we just basically talk and have fun. As it gets closer unfortunately Idol or Aaron or Sandow or whatever you want to call him, he can't help but not stir the pot, 'cause that's just who he is. The tension is starting to build, we send each other pictures every day of training and all we say is accountability. So it's one of those things where I hope when it's over that we're still good, we both have been on the record of saying that we will shake hands win or lose so we'll see but it's it's starting to get, it's starting to get a little bit uncomfortable and it should, it should you know because Trevor doesn't take a backseat to anybody. He's got a lot to prove, I've got a lot to prove. I bitched for years that I never got a shot at being the top guy. I complained about never getting title shots, it's all right here and if I don't get it done you know it's on me, but win or lose I'll be 100% ready, no excuses!"

No matter what we get at the end of it all, wrestling in the upcoming NWA 74 main event likely will be his hugest moment in his wrestling career and having the chance of winning the NWA Worlds Championship would be an incredible feat to accomplish. Many of those dreams inside the ring are very important for Tyrus. He actually has all that on his plate to get ready for the bout but he also offers so much more to the world outside of the ring. Tyrus is an entertainer through and through and has his hat in many avenues. Let's dive into all of that shall we!

Tyrus Is A NYT Bestseller, TV Personality & So Much More!

Tyrus
Hiban Huerta/NWA

Along with being a more than accomplished wrestler, Tyrus is a New York Times Bestseller and also appears on FOX News and contributes on varying subjects to the 'Gutfeld' show and boosts their ratings every time he is on and on top of that, he also has some time to be a comedian.

Tyrus truly knows the person he is and one thing that sticks out is his genuine attitude and overall humor and he is well aware of the entertainment he can bring outside of the ring. Tyrus mentioned all about it as he told The Blast EXCLUSIVELY, "So one of the things is that I'm known as being a smart ass and I've always got something funny to say and my locker room antics have been able to parlay it to a pretty successful career at Fox News. And out of that I started doing more comedy shows and stand up shows and things have just gone from there. I've had some opportunities in some movies, I got some small roles and turned them into special roles and it continues to grow. It's just trying to balance everything and at the same time I've got kids that I want to be present for. I just you know, the book, finishing the book tour has been a lot, the success of the book I was not expecting the magnitude of it. I'm very honored and excited about that and I signed on to do, I'm writing a second book, so I'll be working on that and then I'm looking to do, I'd like to do 2 films this year. I think that's fair ,somewhere in that range, so we'll see, we'll see what happens as far as scheduling stuff like that and I'm gonna do some more live stand up shows. I got the show in St. Louis on the on the Friday the 26th and that was my first try at it and doing it all myself."

It might actually be time to clone Tyrus, but he at least has some help along the way saying he gets help from his friend, "Well I shouldn't say myself, Ingrid booked it. But you know, she just made a call to a venue instead of going through agents and stuff and it's sold out in 32 hours so therefore the momentum is there and it's just whether I can bring it and keep altogether I keep my butt in the gym, keep my butt out the refrigerator, stay on top of my film study."

But the match, no matter what else is going on is still on the top of his mind, "I've probably watched more hours of wrestling between that and I gotta watch news all the time so I'm just constant film study and so it is a good situation but the most important thing is to stay healthy, be prepared and try not to make a stupid mistake in the match against Trevor, 'cause that's the thing about Trevor, I can't make a mistake. This is going to be a wrestling match and probably at some point a fight will break out but I'm interested to see because I'm gonna have to wrestle him. I'm not gonna be able to bully him around. Probably the closest thing to being in the ring with him was probably JR Kratos, he's just as physical and you know I had some trouble with JR because he was able to move me around and being heavier. he was quicker than me so I was stronger but not to the point where I could just throw him around and get him off me you know, so it's kind of, Trevor is probably technically more sound 'cause JR is a brawler, but that would be the closest, that style that I would compare him to. So my work is cut out for me but like I said, I'm focused and I think if I do what I need to do the next time we talk I will have two titles on each shoulder."

And after all of it, and after this weekend alone he should have many more stories for a future book. He already has one NYT Best Seller, and if you haven't read it, Tyrus shared how real the story is telling us what to expect, “It's honest. The only villain in the book is me, the only hero in the book is me. I only talk about what I'm supposed to talk about. I don't do tell all! The locker room is sacred, if you didn't earn the right to be in that locker room, you don't get to know about what happens in that locker room. Just like the same thing with Snoop, I talk about experiences, I talk about coaching Youth Football League, talk about my mistakes, talk about understanding my mistakes. How I made things worse on myself, how I was probably the biggest heel in my story against me 'cause we always like to blame other people. We've all done it, you know you get fired, oh the boss hated me, they were jealous, no and you look back with wisdom on what you did and how you did and like I said in the book, probably the most, the biggest line in there is something my grandmother told me. I got hit the face and my teeth got knocked out by my stepfather and I was pretty upset about it and she said to me, it's not that you get hit in the face. It's your reaction that you are judged by. What do you do after you get hit in the face and that's what people see and that's what people remember, so and that is carried me a long way. I'm judged by my reaction, win or lose it's gonna be my reaction that defines me and that's what the book is really about. Understanding my reaction, and seeing how and a lot of people relate, that's the one thing I've noticed . If you look, if you were interested in the book ,if you look on Amazon. I got over 7000 reviews and people's testimonies and it comes down to they relate because we're all pretty much in the same boat. We got different scars in different places but we've all been through some shit and the idea to act like your situation, your story is 10,000 times worse than everybody else is not what this book is about.”

It is a great read and really gets you to know the real Tyrus and all the good and bad struggles he has had to deal with in his life. But tonight is all about the NWA Worlds Championship match that can literally change his entire future in the squared circle and may even get the NWA to join other shows like they have done in the past. With the new regime in the WWE taking over Vince McMahon, would their be a future of the NWA ever invading. Tyrus is up for it if it were to happen.

Tyrus Would Love To See The NWA On WWE TV

Brodus Clay

The WWE has had ECW and NWA stars and champions come on their show in the past, so it wouldn't be impossible to see it again. And if Tyrus wins the NWA Worlds Championship, he would love to bring the title and challenge some WWE Superstars along the way telling us, "You know I would say it would be good for everybody but the WWE is the NFL, so you know it is the flagship of wrestling, whether you like it or not. It is what it is and anytime they work with anybody it is a great thing for everyone. I think the fans would love it as it would be different. I'd like to see guys kind of do like the territories and come from different places and represent different things. I thought it worked back in the day in WCW, you'd see a guy come on and challenge the Nature Boy. It's always a good thing, it gets the fans excited and it's beneficial for everybody, so yeah that would be awesome. I would think that would be cool, look at Mickie James, she was the Impact Woman's Champion and she was at the Royal Rumble. So there's precedent for it. I believe Jeff Jarrett was the NWA Heavyweight Champion before and he showed up on Raw, so it's not impossible. But my focus right now is making NWA 74 the best it could possibly be and I want to watch the NWA brand continue to grow in our in our old school style of wrestling. It is so physical and I think the future is bright but yeah it's a good time to be in wrestling and I got a couple years left in this ring and more bumps on my bump card. It will be full at some point but I feel like I am going to be leaving it in great hands. I'm not done. Not yet! As they said in Gladiator, not yet."
