"Riverdale" actress Lili Reinhart recently revealed that The CW actors were not allowed to include tongue while acting out kissing scenes. The 25-year-old started acting on the popular series in 2017 beside her co-actors, Camila Mendes, KJ Apa, and Madelaine Petsch.

The actress played Betty Cooper in the series and had Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) as her love interest for most of the show. Despite the many kissing scenes in "Riverdale," Reinhart revealed that the network did not allow actors to tongue kiss. She also expressed her desire to be a part of more adult projects at the end of the series.

Reinhart recently disclosed some guidelines the cast of "Riverdale" has to follow on the show. She joined Josh Horowitz on his "Happy Sad Confused" podcast and talked about her current role in the CW show and future plans in the movie industry.

The 25-year-old said, "You can only be so much of an adult on a CW show because you're not even really allowed to kiss with tongue. That aspect of things are a little different." She explained that after "Riverdale" wraps up, she anticipated being a part of films with "more diverse and complicated, messier characters."

Reinhart revealed that she wanted to play more "adult roles" and would do precisely that after the series. "I have a lot of sort of dramatic, deep roles in my future after Riverdale," she said. "Definitely roles that you have not seen me in — I'm an adult! I'm an adult woman, and I'm going to start playing those more adult roles."

The "Riverdale" actress further revealed on the podcast that actors who had stayed on the CW for a long time usually have issues breaking out of their type cast roles and, most of the time, were not taken as seriously as other entertainers. Due to this, Reinhart explained that she wanted roles different from her character in "Riverdale" in the future.

She said, "I've played the same role as Betty for what will be seven seasons, and it's very important to be strategic. I don't want to be a Scream Queen; I don't want to be the queen of rom-com or anything like that. It's why I want to put my hand in all the baskets and try everything."

The "Look Both Ways" actress spoke about how comfortable the cast in "Riverdale" was with each other to the point of not thinking much of kissing scenes. The 25-year-old appeared in an interview with ET.

The actress said, "I feel like it's very comfortable at this point. I mean, it's The CW; you're not going to get too crazy. It's just like kissing and hugging. I think we're all so comfortable with one another that it's not even really a thing."

Reinhart further revealed that when doing a kissing scene, the cast was not necessarily concerned about it; however, the situation differed with new characters. "If we have a kissing scene, it's fine," she said. "We don't really think twice about it. When new characters have to kiss, it's a little different, and you're like, 'Oh, OK! What this?'"

Lili Reinhart Plays Betty Cooper On The Show

Reinhart starred in "Riverdale" in 2017 as one of the lead characters, Betty. The actress was paired with Jughead (Sprouse) as her love interest; however, in recent episodes, Apa's character, Archie Andrews, was made her romantic interest.

Archie was Betty's unrequited love interest in the show's early episodes; however, the introduction of Veronica Lodges, played by Mendes, blew up the chance of a romance between the duo. Archie and Veronica dated for a while until the character's unexplored feelings for Betty came in the way.

They broke up after Veronica found out about Archie and Betty's affair. According to Reinhart in her Extra interview, the split was inevitable because Archie and Betty had to "explore the feelings that they very obviously have for each other."
