Dog the Bounty Hunter: Once Bitten Twice Shy To Help Find Kiely Rodni After Gabby Petito Flak

Dog the Bounty Hunter is proceeding with caution when it comes to helping find a missing teenager.

The Blast recently reported on 16-year-old Kiely Rodni who went missing on August 6 near the Prosser Family Campground.

The teenager bears a striking resemblance to Gabby Petito and the late 22-year-old’s aesthetic. This month marks the one-year-anniversary of Petito’s disappearance and death.

When Petito went missing, Dog, whose real name is Duane Chapman, started his own search party in hopes to find her killer.

Given the unique and semi-similar circumstances around Rodni’s disappearance, many are calling on Dog to help find her and are sending him tips.

According to reports, the bounty hunter is being extra cautious about joining the search after he received flak for his involvement in the Petito-Laundrie case.

A rep for Dog told TMZ that he has received a number of tips that include the type of clues he previously used to turn into solid leads.

The outlet reports Dog is staying out of it due to the outrage he garnered during his search for Gabby and hunt for Brian Laundrie.

Last year, the Laundrie family’s lawyer, Steven Bertolino, said Dog and John Walsh (“America’s Most Wanted”) are “dusty relics” who are using the terrible situation to garner publicity for themselves.

“Dusty relics like that Dog and John Walsh need a tragic situation like this so they can clear the cobwebs off their names and give their publicity-hungry egos some food,” Bertolino blasted.

As we reported, Dog joined the hunt after going public saying he felt the need to use his special skill set to get closer to Gabby Petito’s family. Of course, the reality star’s appearance on the scene drummed up a lot of publicity included the media covering his every move in Florida.

Dog eventually bowed out of the manhunt for Laundrie in October after severely injuring himself.

Dog was badly injured while searching for the missing suspect. He sustained a major injury to his ankle.

He went back to Colorado to receive treatment for his injury.

At the time of Rodni’s disappearance, she was at an end-of-year school bash with nearly 300 people.

It’s reported there were older men who were in the late 20’s in attendance. They allegedly were providing free drugs and alcohol to minors. The drugs included were mushrooms and cocaine.

On Monday, August 15, Nevada Country Sheriff’s admitted that they still had no solid clues as to what happened to Kiely.

"We are moving into a more limited but continuous search-and-rescue effort," Capt Sam Brown said.

Police were initially treating the case as a possible abduction given her CRV is missing as well, but have since determined it is a missing person case.

"We are going to have to switch modes and kind of focus on the investigative end and try to figure out, where do we go from there,” he explained.

Kiely was last seen wearing green Dickies pants, a black tank top and jewelry.
