Reality star Tom Schwartz is learning how to be single again.
Since his recent split from his ex-wife and "Vanderpump Rules" co-star Katie Maloney, Schwartz is navigating singlehood and learning to be alone.
He also opened up about his recent business endeavor, the cocktail lounge he co-founded with his best friend, Tom Sandoval.
Schwartz and Maloney filed for divorce in March after over a decade together. Although they ended things amicably, Schwartz admitted that the "D" word was too painful to talk about at the time, and it took him about a month to stop wearing his wedding ring.

Tom Schwartz Is 'Relearning How To Be Single'
In an interview with Page Six, the "Vanderpump Rules" star opened up about how he has navigated his life since his split from Maloney.
"I'm sort of relearning how to be single, which is strange," he said at the launch of "Schwartz & Sandy's," his new cocktail lounge.
Schwartz's best friend and co-business owner, Sandoval, chipped in about how Schwartz hasn't had time to be single, noting how busy they've been with the lounge.
Regarding his recent business endeavor, Schwartz remarked, "This has been a great thing to focus on."
This navigation through single life comes after Maloney filed for divorce in March.
"After 12 years on an adventure through life together, Tom and I are ending our marriage. This ending is not met with resentment or animosity. No sides to choose from. We have deep admiration for one another that will always remain, and we cherish our friendship," she wrote on her Instagram at the time.
Katie Maloney Filed For Divorce
The reality star also addressed their split on his Instagram, mentioning that the divorce was his ex-wife's idea.
"Fully respect Katie's decision, and we've had healthy, productive conversations about it. It would be far sadder if she decided to stay with me while not happy," he wrote, adding, "We had some of the most blissful, romantic, fun times humanly possible over the course of our relationship."

Since their divorce, the pair has appeared to be on good terms. In fact, in an Entertainment Tonight interview, Schwartz shared that they still had an "incredible friendship."
"Yes, it was very painful. No one loves getting divorced. But I think we might be some of the best divorcees ever," he said. "We still have an incredible friendship."
He continued, "Yeah, it was rough in the beginning, I'm not gonna lie, but we still have a great bond. We still text and talk. We have joint custody of the dogs. It's really good. There's zero animosity, it's not awkward, there's no tension."
Tom Schwartz And His Best Friend Had Some Drama Around Their Lounge Name
About their newest endeavor, Schwartz and Sandoval joked that the lounge encountered some low points, one of which was the drama that ensued from the lounge's name.
"Honestly, with seeing how it's all come together and all the work we put into it, it sort of grew into the name — just like you said it would," Schwartz shared, to which his best friend let out a vehement yes.
Sandoval also told the outlet that he relied heavily on his friend despite the fact that he was going through a breakup.

"I went through my periods of escapism, whether with my band or other things in my life and [Schwartz] always made up for it," Sandoval shared.
Although they had concerns about the pandemic affecting the business, the pair surged forward and could work together regardless.
"He campaigned hard for last-minute changes like making sure the entire space was equipped with prime lighting and adding large circular mirrors to the wall behind the bar to break up the patterned wallpaper," Sandoval shared of Schwartz.

In a previous episode of their reality show "Vanderpump Rules," the pair talked about the concept and plan for their upcoming lounge.
They shared that they drank psychedelic mushroom tea to help spur their inspiration. However, later in the episode, Schwartz admitted that they have been able to reduce their intake of psychedelic mushrooms.
"Yeah, that was a 2020 thing, you know. I was having like, I felt like once in a while well we don't have to get too deep here. I was having a bit of an existential thing, and the shrooms helped me get through," he began, per Heavy.
"Honestly they did. I needed them. But no, we have curbed our shroom intake because you know we're involved in a very high stakes business venture, and there's no time for shrooms."
