It is natural to be plagued by feelings of grief and sadness when a loved one dies, and the same rule applies to the passing of a treasured pet.

The Sorrentino family was experiencing such devastating emotions after losing their longtime companion Moses, whom they affectionately dubbed Mosey.

The clan's patriarch shared the somber news on Monday, July 18, when he uploaded a series of throwback pictures that captured his family's connection to the pet.

The first slide showed the "Jersey Shore" star squatting next to his beautiful wife, Lauren Pesce, as the couple posed next to the deceased dog in their living room.

While scrolling down their precious memories with Moses, it was impossible to miss Sorrentino's affection for the golden retriever as the photo dump included old snaps of Mike "The Situation" with the puppy.

There were also images of the dog at a younger age posing with MTV star's son, Romeo Reign. The dog was also present when the couple announced the toddler's arrival in May 2021.

The final slide featured the whole family at Romeo's first birthday bash, where the lovebirds posed with the celebrant in front of a beautiful display of blue balloons while the late dog laid down by their feet.

Recalling these wonderful moments could not have been easy, as the Staten Island native's pain could be felt through the post's caption.

"It's with a heavy heart that we share that Moses, our beloved family dog, has just passed," the 40-year-old wrote, "We cherish the time we had and believe that, in fact, all dogs do go to Heaven."

The father-of-one ended his messages by thanking fans for their support and prayers during this challenging period.

For those who do not know, the Sorrentinos previously revealed that the golden retriever suffered from hemangiosarcoma, a deadly canine cancer.

In response to Moses' death, the TV personality's followers and friends flooded the post with over 300,000 likes plus numerous sympathetic messages.

The beloved pet has been a part of the Sorrentino family since 2012, even achieving celebrity status like his owners with several appearances on their reality TV show.

The late golden retriever also amassed an impressive 75,000 followers by showcasing his canine cuteness on the personal Instagram account Pesce opened for the dog.

The Brotrition Founder Opened Up About His Struggles With Sobriety During Holidays

Last year marked a huge milestone for Sorrentino as The Blast reported that the 40-year-old celebrated five years of sobriety that January.

Months after achieving this impressive feat, the Staten Island native addressed his dark past, revealing that he previously disliked the holiday season because of his addiction.

Sharing a picture of himself donning matching Hawaiian shirts with his wife and son on Instagram,  the "Here's the sitch" podcast host penned a lengthy message about gratitude and second chances.

In his candid note, the TV personality confessed that he would not be the man fans knew today without overcoming his addictions as his "biggest flex in life" was being a sober husband and father.

The former "Dancing with the Stars" contestant described his sobriety as a "badge of honor," noting that he had successfully become a "trusted provider, friend, and son" for his family.

The father-of-one explained that he used to be physically present with his loved ones, especially during the holidays. However, he never spiritually and emotionally connected with anyone because of his sobriety issues.

After tasting the delicious fruits of his labor, "The Sorrentinos" star implored others in the same destructive cycle to break free of their addictions and find peace in being the best versions of themselves.
